Things really heated up all over Florida this weekend as everyone is getting ready for what we hope will be a busy season. Saturday was a scream at Bill’s Filling Station as they hosted the finals of the Sexy Bear Contest. Four finalists fought for the coveted title of the Sexiest Bear. Contestants were judged on various criteria, including random questions and interviews, but let’s face it – the final results were based on contestants strutting their best assets. Congratulations to Jim Albright of Hotspots Magazine for taking top honors.

This Sunday Broward House hosted the Sprit of Hope’s Heroes at the Swimming Hall of Fame. Olympic Gold Medal Diver Greg Louganis and Jeanne White-Ginder, mother of Ryan White, unveiled a new exhibit reintroducing Greg’s 1988 Olympic Gold Medal. In a conversation with Hotspots, Greg was very emotional as he lamented over his tumultuous battle with HIV/AIDS in the 1980s. Greg is truly a great American hero who inspires us to be the best that we can be, no matter what the circumstances.
