I was lucky enough to see Lady Gaga both of the nights she was here in South Florida — Tuesday, April 12 at Bank Atlantic Center in Fort Lauderdale and Wednesday, April 13 at American Airlines Arena. Both concerts were amazing! She mentioned her gay fans throughout the show and her message to us was that whether you are gay, straight or bi — you should love yourself because you were born this way!

Speaking of “Born This Way,” Gaga sang two versions of the song — a slow version and a dance version. The fans, of course, were in a frenzy during both renditions. Gaga is very real and told us that she would never ever lip sync! She also told the audience that she herself was once bullied and that if you ever get a platform to right things, you should use it, like she does.
Gaga gives back to her fans — both nights she surprised fans in the audience with a phone call. They won a drink with Gaga after the show and Virgin Mobile donated $20,000 to the RE*generation Campaign, which helps homeless youth.
The message of the evening was love, love, love. I spoke with our Hotspots staff in Orlando and Tampa after the shows at the Amway Center at the St. Pete Times Forum and they agreed! Gaga truly wants us all to be ourselves and love ourselves. It was such an experience, seeing her fans dressed up in costume — some of them had more elaborate costumes than those on stage. I thought that if we could live our lives like this all the time and if we could celebrate people instead of judging them, what a great world it would be. Maybe after hearing Gaga’s message we can all change our thinking and love everyone as if we were had a rebirth and were reborn this day!
