Whats Hot 01Saturday morning started off the 2nd Amazing Race South Florida. There were 20 teams and a lot of rain, but still over $30,000 was raised for Broward House. Congrats to all the racers on a job well done!  Saturday night featured 2 big events. In Miami Discotekka was celebrating the birthday of Manager and Saturday night host Vegas. Vegas just returned from a weeklong vacation looking refreshed and happy. I would like to take this time opportunity to personally wish my good friend a happy birthday…Love ya! In Fort Lauderdale, Noche Latina at the Manor was celebrating the Victory of Puerto Rican, Angel Saez, winning Mr. Continental 2012/13. The place was packed and featured a great show by hostess Viva Mirage and Angel himself. Look for Angel on this week’s cover and an interview with him (by moi) inside this magazine. Sunday was a very busy day in Fort Lauderdale for me which started out at Brunch at Lips for Eric’s (my roomie and Alibi Bartender) birthday extravaganza. A group of 10 of us got together to celebrate Miss Erica’s birthday (see the pic and you will know why I call him a miss) and had a fabulous time with the ladies of Whats Hot 02Lips and their inspirational and fun loving Gospel Brunch. A special shot out to Nicolette (hostess) who is just AMAZING on the microphone. She kept us in stitches all afternoon long! After brunch and a quick nap to rest off the unlimited champagne (unlimited and alcohol are a bad combination…just saying) I headed over to the Red Party at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa. The Red Party was organized by Live Free Be Strong and was a benefit for the Smart Ride. Despite the gloomy overhead conditions the event was packed and featured performances by, my friend, recording artist Ceevox and a fashion show by Chic Optique, Pride Factory and 5 Star Monkey. Congratulations to Andy Lauer and the Live Free Be Strong Team for a great event and raising over $6,500 for the Smart Ride. Later that night we went over to Matty’s to celebrate Matty’s birthday. Sorry I couldn’t stay long, but I had to get home to watch the Emmy’s!
