Captain America is definitely a supporter of gay rights!
Chris Evans is an American actor best known for his role as comic book hero Captain America in the Avengers and the Captain America films, the second of which is in production now, with an expected release date sometime in 2014.
A few years ago, while doing promo work for one of his movies, he was interviewed by the Advocate and he “outed” his younger brother Scott. Apparently, it wasn’t a family secret; Scott, who is also an actor, had come out to his family at 19, he just wasn’t publicly out. When the article hit newsstands Chris realized that he may have put his foot in his mouth and called his little brother to apologize, but, according to Scott, it was totally unnecessary, he likened it to pointing out his gender or hair color. No big deal. How refreshing for a Hollywood star.
In the same interview in the Advocate, Evans went on to comment about marriage equality. He stated: “As for gay marriage, it’s mindboggling and appalling that human beings are being denied civil rights in this country. But time will heal all. I have to believe that in 10 years we won’t be having this conversation… “
He is also quoted as saying to the Huffington Post “Are you kidding me? It’s insane that civil rights are being denied people in this day and age. It’s embarrassing, and it’s heartbreaking. It goes without saying that I’m completely in support of gay marriage. In 10 years we’ll be ashamed that this was an issue.”
Despite the fact that there are plenty of gays in Hollywood, in the real world, many people are still struggling with their sexuality. We need all of the allies that we can get to help institute change in places where LGBT community members still don’t feel safe or supported to come out. With visible stars like Chris Evans joining the fight for equality, it makes it just a bit easier for the rest of us.

Once again, we come to another movie star who has seen rumors of his homosexuality follow him for years. Is it the wishful thinking of celebrity bloggers and paparazzi or is there any truth to the rumors? Upon first glance at Google search results, you may be led to believe that he is “family” but upon closer inspection, it see Butler is a Scottish actor who is also trained as a lawyer, although he never actually practiced law. He left Scotland for England, hoping to make it big in London’s theatre scene. After modest success, he decided to try his luck in Hollywood, where according to director Vadim Jean: “I have never seen anybody work so hard to make their career happen.” Jean cast Butler in 2004’s Phantom of the Opera. His most recent box office success was this spring’s Olympus Has Fallen, which also stars Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart, Angela Bassett, and Ashley Judd, among others. Although the film got mixed reviews, it has generated nearly $80 million in the few short week’s it’s been open.ms it’s just speculation. Many blogs and websites have links to a story where Gerard Butler admitted he is bisexual, but once you dig a little deeper, it becomes obvious that he never said what is attributed to him. At least we can dream.
Butler was linked romantically to Jennifer Aniston but the two went their separate ways and he is now dating Romanian model Madalina Ghenea. Dating either of these beauties should be enough to squelch gay rumors, but it seems in Hollywood, if you’re hot, then you must be gay. Oh well, take it as a compliment Gerry, and take your shirt off again, you’ve got us all panting over here.
