Triton Talent presents “Mel Schwartz Sleeps with Mae West” a madcap musical-comedy of errors by and directed by Ginger Reiter (playwright/composer of the Jackie Mason musical) at Empire Stage (1140 N. The Broward Center for the Performing Arts presents a cabaret-style evening of short movements and dialogue with The Amernet String Quartet at 8 p.m. In an evening hosted by Broward Center Arts Ambassador Lyn Farmer, the doors will open an hour before the concert and patrons will have the opportunity to enjoy light fare and bar service in the performance space while mingling with the musicians. The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County is proud to present the return of Pink Martini, the beloved Oregon-based “little orchestra” led by founder and artistic director Thomas Lauderdale together with lead vocalist China Forbes. Pink Martini’s diverse 12-piece orchestra will perform arrangements from their new album Je dis oui! at 8 p.m. inside the acoustically superb John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall. Two days before the fantastic Gay 8 festival, the producers present the “Pa’Lante Awards” at 7pm at Cubaocho (1465 SW 8th St). They invite you to celebrate 4 lifetime achievements: Cecilia Gutierrez-Abety, Denise Brown, Desmond Child and Steve Adkins. The SMART Ride 2016 check party is from 1pm – 3pm, at The International Swimming Hall of Fame!  The seven benefiting agencies of SMART Ride 2016 will receive checks and don’t forget 100% of every dollar raised will be distributed, as well as fund their 10% Lifeline that continues to give money out throughout the year where the needs arise for assistance in the HIV/AIDS arena.  Passed hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer and soft drinks provided.

ArtsUnited, a south Florida-based LGBT artist organization presents its annual juried show, “ArtExplosion“, representing an array of work in all media. It is one of the largest LGBT art shows in the United States, and is ArtsUnited’s largest fundraiser of the year. The opening reception is from 6-9 p.m. at ArtServe. The reception will include an erotic art and film show, surprise performances, a raffle, food and drink. MC for the evening is Akrylika Magenta, and music will be provided by DJ Frankie Fox. A $10 donation at the door helps support ArtsUnited’s programs. $1,000 in awards will be presented. The exhibit runs through Jan. 27th
