Suncoast Project Opens
A.S.A.P’s. (AIDS Services Association of Pinellas, Inc) the Suncoast Project has opened its doors at 4601 34th Street South, Suite 102 in the Flamingo Hotel in St. Petersburg. Project Coordinator David Karst welcomed the attending GLBT leaders, media and medical community to the newly opened offices and building. “There are 4 testing areas at the new location,” David said. The new Ora Quick Advance HIV testing and information services are now available to the gay community. The ASAP mobile unit does testing in the CZAR parking lot on Saturday nights in Ybor City. HGTV Coming to Ybor City
HGTV selected Tony LaColla and Jose for episode #6 of “Battle on the Block,” a new TV show which will start airing in the spring. They film March 4th through the 8th here in Ybor. It is Tony and Jose’s house, Steve Erickson and Jenna Becker in competition with each other to design a new master bedroom. HGTV staff loved Ybor City and will feature the neighborhood prominently in the show. Congratulations, Tony & Jose, Jenna & Steve.
About Town
With the holidays finally behind us we decided it was time to rally up the troops for some fun. After a few text messages and a note on Facebook the next thing we knew there was a group of over 50 at Hamburger Mary’s on a Sunday night at 6:30. The talk of Mary’s debut full menu was overshadowed by their newest addition, the Liberace Piano! You can just imagine what happens when a talented partygoer sits down and begins to play! We say same time, same place, next Sunday! We decided to stop by City Side next to see what was new. After a short visit at City Side it was time to call it a night…
