Billed as “The Sexiest HIV/AIDS Fundraiser to hit South Florida in years,” it’s an opportunity to see a naughty Burlesque-style show and make a difference in your community.

Presented by Broward House, and Paradise Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, the one night only show was inspired by Broadway Bares Equity Fights AIDS event in New York. One hundred percent of the funds raised at this scintillating show go to Broward House, Broward County’s oldest and largest HIV/AIDS community service organization.

The two were in their office at Broward House brainstorming and while looking on Facebook, saw photos posted from the NYC event.

“I said, ‘How much fun would that be to do here,'” Terry DeCarlo explained. “And Nikki said, ‘Why can’t we?'”

The two accomplished their goal last year by putting on the first ever Broward Bares It. The event raised $20,000 and featured several sexy locals like Rod Stephens, the men of Boardwalk, Jennifer McClain and Electra and famous burlesque stars like Burlesque Bambi LaFleur and Candy Caramelo. Nikki Adams, who directed the show, also performed.

That first year saw hundreds of attendees and the show was an amazing success, not just as an event, but also as a fundraiser for the agency. Looking to the 2011 event, the producers knew they needed more space and a more theatrical atmosphere, so they again approached the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and with their help are moving into the fabulous, Broadway-style theater, Paradise Live!

Some of last years popular performers will return again this year along with many new faces (and bodies!). In fact, the cast is presently 50 people strong! Joining the production crew this year as Nikki Adam’s co-director is performer, theater professional and star of stage and screen David Meullemans. There will also be new acts this year including Kristian Campisano and Nelson Polanco.

This year’s goal is to raise $50,000. Adams said the need is greater this year because of the major cutbacks from the government.

“Thats why events such as this are so important — they fill in the gaps for funding programs for the HIV community,” she said.

In addition to supporting a great cause, the event itself is definitely something you won’t want to miss.

“This is a show that you won’t see anywhere else,” Adams explained. “It will have some of the best acts in South Florida as well as some of the nation’s top acts—all together.”

If you can’t make the event, you can donate to performers online at BrowardBaresIt.com. The performer who raises the most money will receive a photo shoot with photographer Dennis Dean.

You won’t want to miss what Adam’s describes as “a sensual, sexy, funny, tongue-in-cheek show.”
