Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park is set to open Farmer’s Pick Buffet on Fri., Sept. 14 at 4 p.m., featuring fresh menu ingredients picked from their on-property, one-acre farm and hydroponic garden, and selected from Florida’s own purveyors within a 300-mile radius.

The Isle Buffet is currently being remodeled with new décor and signage as part of the Farmer’s Pick rebranding, a corporate initiative by The Isle of Capri Casinos that saw its first Farmer’s Pick open last year in Boonville, Mo.

The new regionalized “farm-to-table” concept in Pompano Beach includes an expanded menu with ingredients such as fresh-picked vegetables, fruits, and herbs, grown right on the expansive100-acre property located at Powerline Road. Local vendors will supply other fresh items such as seafood, bread, eggs, cheeses, hot sauces, orange blossom honey, and fresh Florida citrus.

Florida’s own growers produce a wonderful variety of food products at great value, and to create dishes from them for our customers has been an energizing labor of love for our talented food and beverage team,” commented General Manager Rob Wyre.

Fresh-from-scratch, small batch cooking at six live action stations is our specialty, so our customers get to see first-hand how their meal is created with the finesse of every cook,” added Senior Director of Food & Beverage Mark Sicili. “This also allows our diners to customize many dishes to their liking.”

The Farmer’s Pick salad bar, sushi offerings and dessert station will all be significantly larger, with additional greens and toppings for salads and a large array of desserts, including homemade cinnamon rolls with orange blossom honey icing. Just a few of the local vendors include: Sweetwater Creek Honey Farm, Neville and Joe’s Key West Lime Juice, HOT DAMN Hot Sauce, Zachs Zombie Sauces-Marinades, Inc., and Dat’l Do-it, Inc.

“I’m really excited for the September re-launch of the buffet,” said Head Chef de Cuisine Aaron Andryka. “I’ve been working directly with the local vendors and it’s really great to be able to stand behind Florida purveyors you’ve personally selected and know that your ingredients are the best. My favorite dishes so far are the vegetable whole wheat flat bread with fresh mozzarella, and the orange blossom honey-glazed ham.”
