Care Resource presents the 25th Anniversary of AIDS Walk Miami, a 5k (3.1 mile) walk-a-thon fundraiser benefiting those who have been affected by or infected with HIV/AIDS in our South Florida Communities on Sunday April 28th

The 25th Annual AIDS Walk Miami registration opens at the Miami Beach Convention Center (Hall D), 1901 Convention Center Drive, at 8 am followed by the Opening Ceremonies and Invocation at 8:30 am. The walk begins at 9 am rain or shine. The Walk is followed by an exciting post-walk celebration (from 9:30 am till noon)

The 25th Annual AIDS Walk Miami registration opens at the Miami Beach Convention Center (Hall D), 1901 Convention Center Drive, at 8 am followed by the Opening Ceremonies and Invocation at 8:30 am. The walk begins at 9 am rain or shine. The Walk is followed by an exciting post-walk celebration (from 9:30 am till noon) located at the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens at 2000 convention Center Drive. The celebration is set to take place on this lush 2.6 acre garden in the heart of South Beach with a live performance by BarrioActivo sponsored by MTV Staying Alive, music by DJ Aulden Brown, complimentary massages from Educating Hands School of Massage, adopt a pet from Miami-Dade Animal Services. Also at that time you get to visit the AIDS Walk Miami sponsors and receive complimentary beverages, goodies, and so much more.

Funds raised from this annual event benefit Care Resource, South Florida’s oldest and largest HIV/AIDS community organization providing Primary Medical Care, Dental, Psychosocial, Case Management, Outreach and Prevention, Food Bank, Home Delivered Meals and Nutritional counseling and education to over 15,000 residents living in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties who are either affected or infected with HIV/AIDS.

This year, Care Resource is proud to welcome Dr. Robert C. Gallo as their distinguished Grand Marshal. Dr. Gallo is the eminent scientist who became world famous in 1984 when he co-discovered HIV as the cause of AIDS. He is currently the founder and director of the Institute of Human Virology – which was established to create and develop a world-class center of excellence focusing on chronic viral diseases, especially HIV/AIDS and virally-linked cancers.

AIDS Walk Miami welcomes back Scott Padgett, Local News Channel 10 Meteorologist as their Master of Ceremonies.
