What an exciting month! Coming off the heels of the impressive Orlando Pride, we now move our eyes southward to Fort Myers where southwest Florida will have their Pride on October 12 (read our October 12 section for more information!). After that, Sarasota will be having the Pride celebrations on October 19. I tell people all the time that Pride is not just for June anymore, honey, especially in a hot state like Florida! It is becoming a year-long affair, which is really how it should be. I’m having a proud October — are you? Lots of love to you all!
Thursday October 10
DominicFord.com pioneered the use of 3D film to show off their sexy men in sizzling hot situations. Now they are calling for new models! Compete for the chance at Georgie’s Alibi in St. Petersburg. The audience chooses the winner, and there will also be free porn giveaways! Contest starts at 10 p.m.
Friday October 11
The Mr. Sawmill Leather Weekend starts today at Sawmill Resort in Dade City. Come on out, daddies and boys, as we celebrate all things leather. The winner of the Mr. Sawmill Leather Contest 2014 will win a grand prize of $300! Compete, watch or play!
Saturday October 12
Thriller: The Ultimate ’80s Party will be serving retro realness at Parliament House in Orlando. There will be three rooms of ’80s music (DJ Brianna in charge of dance, DJ Johnny Cruz playing 12″ vinyls and DJ Phat Kat spinning hip hop). The Footlight Players will have “Thriller shows” at 10 p.m. and 12 a.m.
The Zebra Ball will headline this Pulsate Saturday at Pulse in Orlando. A portion of the proceeds will help LGBT youth involved with the Zebra Coalition. There will be shows at 11 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. with Angelica Sanchez and Kai’ja Adonis. The party starts at 9 p.m.
The Ultra Lounge in Cocoa presents Village Follies, an exciting Saturday show starring Vanessa Rose and Leah Tyler, straight from Orlando. The show starts at 11:30 but the bar opens much earlier, at 4!
A celebration of LGBT pride comes to the Southwest Florida Suncoast with the event called Pride! at Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers. Come eat, shop, dance, and celebrate with people from Port Charlotte all the way down to Naples. The festival starts at noon and ends at 5:30.
Sunday October 13
Come party with the sexy, sexy bears at Bradley’s on 7th‘s special Bear Sundays gathering. The party starts at 6 and runs straight through midnight, and Bradley’s says there is NEVER a cover! DJ Steve Brooks in charge of music for the evening.
Sing along to your favorite showtunes at Edward’s Showtune Sundays at Stonewall Bar Orlando. This week they are showcasing the music of the musical Wicked. Be there at 4:30 p.m. sharp for great Broadway music and fun times!
Monday October 14
Anjila Cavalier brings her Mary’s Got Talent show from Tampa over to Hamburger Mary’s in Clearwater. The winner receives a grand prize of $100. You can do drag, sing, dance, act, anything you want, and the audience decides the winner! Showtime is at 8:30. Are you the next Mary’s superstar? Show your stuff and find out!
Wednesday October 16
Dirty Drag Bingo at Hammerheads Beer & Wine Bar in Orlando is supposed to be an experience like no other drag bingo! We were personally promised that this is the funniest time you will ever have at bingo. Sounds like a lot of pressure for hostess Tiara Latrice Wells Teal but I was told she shines! It’s free to play bingo and the balls start rolling at 9 p.m.
Hoping to become a Tampa Bay institution is the show The Centerfold Showgirls at Valentines on Armenia Avenue in Tampa. This is one chock-full revue, with eleven different drag queens showing off their best numbers! The show features Mia Vondese and Aquira Sherrington, among others. The two shows start at 11:45 and 1:15, and there is no cover before 10:30.
