whcf_banEverything you need to plan your week…

The weather is getting cooler, everything seems to be pumpkin spice-flavored…it’s autumn. And what does one associate with pumpkins and autumn? Halloween. Yes, it’s coming, and I hope everyone gets lots of treats and plenty of trade! (Or just lots of treats to the readers who are happily partnered.) If you love a good costume party, there are many of those this week, and if you are especially good at making an outfit that’s sexy or scary, you could be hauling away more booty than just the junk in your trunk! Lots of love to you all!

Thursday October 24

Starting tonight and going through Sunday at Sawmill Resort in Dade City is Sawmill’s Cowboy CarnEvil. There will be a costume contest with a top prize of $250, a special “carnEvil” haunted maze, a Little Shop of Horrors-inspired costume parade and production, and a “carnEvil” camping site decorating contest, among other fun activities!

Friday October 25

whcf_fri_fishtankHamburger Mary‘s in Tampa is starting Halloween a little early with a Halloween-themed Fish Tank drag show. There will be a costume contest for the audience, with great prizes promised, and at 8:30 p.m. there will be a special Halloween production starring hostess Daphne Ferraro as well as Kathryn Equality Nevets, Chi Chi Lalique and Delores Van Cartier. Call (813) 241-6279 for reservations to the show!

Foreplay Fridays at The Brink in Orlando is having their Halloween-themed party, called whcf_fri_bloodbathBloodbath 6. Produced by Kitana Gemini, who will also be hosting a show starting at 12:30 a.m., this night will be offering a costume contest with a $500 grand prize, and also three separate DJs playing the best in house and electronic music.

Saturday October 26

The Tampa Theatre is celebrating its 87th birthday by changing its logo! This is all occurring during their A Nightmare on Franklin Street Halloween film festival. Come on down this afternoon for movies with a Halloween theme, but nothing too scary. At 2 p.m. there will be a screening of the 1995 film Casper, followed by the original Ghostbusters movie from 1984 at 4:45.

Guavaween is coming to Tampa, and Bradley’s on 7th is preparing for the crowds by planning to serve up a Vixens of the Night Review (showtimes 11:30 and 1:15). “The Temtpress” Joey Brooks is host, and her cast includes “The Mysterious” Mercedes Devereaux” and “The Enchanting” Danielle Hunter, special from Orlando! DJ Don Lamb will be spinning hits in the dance bar and Bradley’s Boys will be around all night! There will also be a special CD release party, giving away copies of the late Donna Summer’s “Love to Love You Donna.”

DJ Kidd Madonny is coming back up from Miami to headline The Meat Market, the Halloween/Guavaween party being held at GBar in Tampa. He’s bringing his signature light show, and there’s also another surprise…electronic music sensation Bex will be there to perform her hot single “What You Are.”

whcf_sat_phNow if you love a good costume party, Parliament House in Orlando is going to be offering the biggest kitty of them all…$4000 over the span of a week! The first costume party, “Halloween I,” will be happening this evening, with $1000 set aside for the winners. Stay for “Halloween II” on Halloween night because that’s when they’re giving up the other three grand!

Monday October 28

Last month Stonewall Bar Orlando served up Divine films, and this month their Cult and Kitsch Movie and Cocktail Shindig night is showing “double creature features!” On tap starting at 8 p.m. are two creepy movies, the 1982 film Basket Case, followed by the 1974 film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre!

Wednesday October 30

Pulse in Orlando is throwing their special Halloween Bash over two nights, with the first night starting tonight. Miss Gay USofA at Large Angelica Sanchez will be hosting a show at 12:30 a.m. on both nights, and $250 will be given away each night to the best costume.

Revolution in Orlando is celebrating Halloween with flawless queens; their event is called the Spooky Fish Halloween Bash. Like most bars, there is a costume contest, but there is a very good haul for winners here: $500 cash and prizes await the most creative people. The queens (Samantha Stone, Natasha Stone, Chevelle Brooks and Sasha Colby) take the stage at midnight. What else is there to love? This is a no cover event!
