Miami Carpet and Tile has served South Florida for generations. Originally the Miami Rug Company, the company has operated under its current name since 1991, and a large portion of its workforce has been employed by the company since the Miami Rug Company days, so they are very knowledgeable about the products they sell and install.

The design center, located at 2840 N. Federal Hwy. in Fort Lauderdale, is well-known by its distinct building structure. Built in 1961 specifically as a showroom for carpeting, tile, and other flooring needs, it has been Miami Carpet and Tile’s headquarters for decades. They can deliver your product for installation not just in the South Florida metro area, but also to the Florida Keys, Port Saint Lucie, and even points beyond.

I talked to owner Francis Durfee, who has worked at the company since 1988, about Miami Carpet and Tile in this Hotspots interview.SBSCarpet_copy2

You say your success is built on complete customer satisfaction. How do you exceed customers’ expectations?

Usually most people are overwhelmed when it comes to flooring. When they come into our showroom and they look around and they see all the kinds of things that we offer, the very first thing that we can do is guide them in the right direction as far as the right product and even the right design element for the room in which the flooring will be installed. The people we employ have been with us for a long time and they are really artisans in the flooring industry. Our great service, coupled with the quality of the materials that we sell, means we end up exceeding all SBSCarpet_copyour customers’ expectations.

If a customer would like to purchase carpet and tile, how would they do that?

They don’t even have to go to the showroom anymore! They can call us or go to our website and set up an appointment. We can have our guys come to them and show them all of our samples, at their house, at no obligation. The showroom, should people want to come in, becomes the customers’ library. We provide them with samples for them to take home and they can decide what they like. Our salespeople and decorators come for a visit to measure the rooms, and if the customers like everything, we can install.
