You Just Can’t Make This Stuff Up!

One day at the neighborhood 7-Eleven, there was quite the collection of characters there. We had just finished paying when the clerk yelled at a guy eating donuts, “You know you gotta pay for the donuts you’re eating!” He yelled back, “What you talking about? I ain’t eating any donuts!” We all started to laugh…his face was covered in sugar! Things started to get heated. We decided not to leave the clerk alone in the store with the donut eater. Just then a police officer walked in. He asked what was going on. The clerk told him, then the donut eater said again that he wasn’t eating donuts.  The officer and clerk talked and decided to give him a no trespassing warrant. As the donut eater was leaving, he complained that this was just wrong. We all laughed even harder. The officer told us with a big smile, “I was just coming in for a slurpee!”

Tampa Riverwalk, with Cheese!

Tampa’s newly completed 2.5 mile Tampa Riverwalk had a new addition to its huge outdoor park events: Mac & Cheese Fest, backed by our Mayor Bob!

The spring days in Tampa are beautiful and refreshing. Downtown’s Curtis Hixon Park is a treasured huge green space that soothes the inner Tampa crowds’ young and old souls.

Can you imagine, just decades ago, the alignment of Tampa’s old dilapidated warehouses along the Hillsborough River? Warehousing businesses supplying the needs of the area and  to the west coast of Florida. What a great positive transition.

But after six mayors in office working on the new beautification creation for Tampa, it is finally 90% competed. A 2.5 mile funway walkway along the banks and high-rises of downtown Tampa will relax your mind and body.

Tropical Heatwave Benefit Heats Up Ybor City

88.5 WMNF, Community Generated Radio, had its 34th Annual Tropical Heatwave Charity Radio Benefit. Over 80 bands played over the two-day festival. Tropical Heatwave has its niche as one of the oldest music festivals in America. The famed event is an eclectic mix of musical talents, which brought in thousands of avid listeners and music enthusiasts to hear the bands perform. The bands played two nights at the Cuban Club main stage area, the Cuban Club Cantina, The Ritz Ybor, New World Brewery and at our friends Tom and Bonnie’s Crow Bar stage.

From the Mail Bag: Florida Leather n Fetish Pride Weekend

Florida Leather n Fetish Pride Weekend (FLaFP), a weekend designed to celebrate the life we live and love of the Leather and Fetish lifestyle, is the coming together of all facets of our communities regardless of individual’s sexual preference, age, gender, or identity. We encompass all realms of leather, BDSM, rubber/latex, sports gear, military, underwear, cigars, drag, human animals (puppies, kitties and ponies), and furries. Whatever your fetish is, we celebrate it.

As we get ready to hold our event, we are becoming more visible throughout the state by attending and sponsoring more events. As we move forward, we know that without you, our brothers and sisters, there would be nothing to celebrate.

The family of Florida Leather n Fetish Pride is excited and proud to announce this year’s dates of our annual event weekend: November 13-16, 2015, and it will be held at the Flamingo Resort in St. Petersburg. Our photographer Mr. “JUST ONE MORE” Bruce Hardin will be snapping pictures all weekend long and you never know where he might snap! So on behalf of the family of FLaFP, we invite you to come for a day or night or stay for the weekend. Please visit our website at www.FLaFP.com.
