Scott Bradlee Helps Bring the Hits of Today Back in Time
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if your favorite Top 40 song was performed in a 
different style, namely one from a different time period? Scott Bradlee definitely has; the pianist and composer has become famous for throwing together today’s hits against a backdrop of a variety of musical styles from yesteryear. In just three years, he and his band, the Postmodern Jukebox, have released twelve albums of very catchy cover songs.
Now Scott and the band are going out on the road, bringing their unique sound worldwide. On their trip they will be stopping four times in Florida: at Hard Rock Live Orlando on Tuesday, November 24 at 8 p.m.; Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday, November 25 at 8 p.m.; the Straz Center in Tampa on Friday, November 27 at 8 p.m.; and the Florida Theatre in Jacksonville on Saturday, November 28 at 8 p.m.
Scott Bradlee became famous on YouTube after his videos, in which today’s hits are played in styles such as jazz, ragtime, or swing, went viral around the world. To date, his videos have received over 150 million views on YouTube. One of his most popular cover songs was “We Can’t Stop,” by Miley Cyrus, covered in a doo-wop style, featuring the talents of The Tee-Tones. Other viral hits include a 1940s jazz interpretation of Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” (in which the singer, Kate Davis, plays an upright bass), and a 1920s-inspired version of Macklemore’s “Thrift Shop.”
The band Postmodern Jukebox consists of 60 different members, some of whom record and tour more often than others. The singers and musicians involved include saxophonist Dave Koz, Broadway singer and musician Lauren Molina, America’s Got Talent singer Emily West, and American Idol singers Blake Lewis and Haley Reinhart.
Tickets are available for purchase now and can be purchased online by going to Scott Bradlee’s website directly at postmodernjukebox.com/#tour and clicking on “U.S./Canada.” Ticket prices begin at $27.50 per person for the Orlando and Fort Lauderdale tour dates, $29.50 per person for the Jacksonville tour date and $60 for the Tampa tour date. VIP options are available on the website as well; for $55.55 per person (must purchase ticket as well), VIP ticketholders will get to attend a meet and greet before the show with some of the Postmodern Jukebox band and early entry into the venue for the show.
