A new report finds that life for LGBTQ+ Americans has worsened since Donald Trump’s re-election — and many are taking drastic steps to stay safe. According to the Movement Advancement Project, 57 percent of LGBTQ+ people, including 84 percent of transgender and nonbinary individuals, have made major life changes since November — from moving states to updating IDs or crossing state lines for medical care. The report warns, “As political attacks on LGBTQ people by federal, state, and local governments continue into the future, it is likely that these impacts will only accumulate.”
