Mark Lowe of Living Room is extremely grateful to those who frequent the popular nightclub and is excited about his second anniversary party. Mark promises personal attention to everyone who shows up at their anniversary saying, “I will gladly get down on my hands and knees…”
Lowe’s cheeky sense of humor is part of the reason for Living Room’s success. Through the last two years, Lowe has pushed the envelope with the design of the beautiful establishment, his hot scantily clad staff and with numerous sexy theme parties.
Lowe said that acts will be announced at a later time, but the evening will be a big thank you and will focus on new openings, new ventures and “revolutionizing the world.”
Lowe said that Living Room is about everyone coming together. “Regardless of age and gender, this is a time for acceptance,” he explained.
He said that a lot of people ask him why he has female dancers at Living Room’s gay night, Liquid Fridays. “I explain that the best parties in the world have always been mixed parties,” he said. “We as a community need to open ourselves up and be respectful of the straight people who stood beside us.”
He said that he feels that the gay community is boxed into one area, but he feels it will change with the younger generation. “We need to be aware of a new generation and we need to be open minded as a community,” he said. “It’s not black and white.”
“If we want equal rights, we need to get out of our box and get in peoples face and show people who we are,” Lowe continued. “We need to show that we are lawyers, doctors, plumbers, actors – not just what’s portrayed on TV – guys running around in leather.”
Living Room has had several successful theme nights including “True Blood,” “Avatar,” “Alice in Wonderland” and “Angels and Demons.” They’ve also had some amazing guests like Kim Zolciak from “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Pussycat Doll Kaya Jones, Chris “Leave Britney Alone” Crocker and recently a fashion show with designer Richie Rich.
Lowe said that he will continue to bring hot theme nights and amazing stars to the club.
After their anniversary party, there next big event will be on Halloween. They will be doing an official “Saw” event, inspired by the scary movie. “It will be really intense and graphic,” Lowe said. “I really want it to be disturbing and dark.”
He said that there will be some slight changes in the look of Living Room, which he will continue to remodel. “No matter how beautiful it is, there are always changes you can do,” he said.
Lowe promises to keep thinking outside the box. “At the end of the day, art is inspiration and is about affecting people good or bad,” he said. “If they like it they like it, if they don’t, they don’t, but they leave scratching their head.
