Last Tuesday was the annual Boardwalk Christmas party at the penthouse of Jim Kalkona and once again it was packed with a who’s who of the South Florida Gay scene. Wednesday was the monthly RBC meeting and the RBC Holiday party at the Pride Center. Following that was the beginning of the 1st year anniversary of The Manor featuring the reinvention launch of their restaurant (take a look at this week’s issue for Sheri’s review of the new menu) where the presentation and the food were over the top. Following was Bill’s featured their annual Christmas Toy Drive and Customer Appreciation party which was a benefit for Kids in Distress and featured Believe, A Christmas Dream. Friday was the re-grand opening of Dudes and Gannon went out of his was to return Dudes to what it was made famous for; the elegant décor, the friendly staff and the sexy dancers. Saturday was the Club Oz grand opening and Christmas party featuring a full Christmas meal, dancers and Christmas cheer! Thanks to Veto and Hugo for lots of fun.

From Pride of Greater Fort Lauderdale
“The Board of Directors of Stonewall Pride, Inc. (d.b.a. Pride of Greater Fort Lauderdale) voted on December 2, to cease operations at the end of its fiscal year, December 31. The decision to close down the organization was due to the loss of over $30,000 at this past June’s Stonewall Street Festival and Parade on Wilton Drive. Nearly a third of the money owed from the event has been paid to their creditors. There no longer appears to be any way of raising any more money. The remaining physical assets (soda, plastic cups, bar equipment, festival equipment) is being donated to the Pride Center at Equality Park. The registered Trademark “Wicked Manors” is also being officially transferred to the Pride Center.”
What is HOT? The Holiday season…Instead of picking a product or service that is HOT this week I chose to pick the Holiday season. What is HOTTER than spending quality time with your loved ones. From the bottom of my heart, I wish everyone a happy holiday season!
