“We are taking a fresh new spin on how we’re presenting the Disney stories,” says Producer Juliette Feld. “The popular talent show trend is used as a vehicle to weave together the four worlds of Merida, Ariel, Belle and Rapunzel. We include acts like Cinderella’s stepsisters tap dancing; Gaston debating which of his many ‘talents’ he should perform; Pinocchio singing; and the harmless hooligans from Tangled unleashing musical mayhem with giant frying pans in hand.”

It is believed that Disney has taken a much more progressive approach on the Gay community and fully embraces our culture. It was a pleasure to sit down with Adam Loosley who is openly gay and is in the ensemble and is the assistant to the Director of the show in the position of Male Line Captain. “We do almost 400 shows a year and my job is to make sure that we are giving the highest quality show every time by communicating notes to the cast from the performance director, helping run rehearsals, teaching new performers and making sure the choreography remains looking like the Choreographers original intent” says Loosley.

How is it to work for such a progressive company as Feld?

Feld is very open minded and a great company to work for. They create a safe environment for people from all walks of life, no matter their race, sexual orientation or gender. Diversity is so welcomed here, it’s refreshing!  7 different countries are represented on this very talented cast!  From travelling and working with such unique, independent and artistic minds, I have learned over the years that there are many different ways of doing things, not better or worse, just different.

When and how did you start Ice Skating?

I come from a very big Skating Family as my mom and Dad are Skating coaches and my older brother skated as well. I grew up in the arena. I competed for years in Canada.

What is your favorite part about being a professional Skater?

When and how did you get cast in Feld Entertainment?
I love the dramatic aspect of performing; and Disney on Ice is a great company to work for because the job combines athleticism and drama. I love telling a story and this show has 4 stories that are woven together all of which are amazing to tell.

This is my 9th year on tour. I have been living out of 2 suitcases for 9 years, believe it or not! When I was done competing I applied to school and I was about to start when an ice show came to town looking for local talent with all of my skating heroes’ like Kurt Browning. Through that show I realized how much I loved performing. A few years later I saw an ad for Disney on Ice and sent my audition video in. Three weeks later I was on a plane to Scotland, and the rest is history.

What is it like constantly living on the road?

I work 10 to 12 months out of the year, and I love it. It’s a fast paced lifestyle. However, you get to see many different cities around the world. I have been to 31 countries over the 9 years which is something I would never have been able to do if I wasn’t working for such a wonderful company.

What have been your favorite cities that you have performed in?

I love Venice Italy because it’s romantic and has great food. Thailand’s beaches are amazing and everyone moves at such a relaxed pace there. I also love Chicago and Florida, especially Tampa where I recently bought a place. I am from Canada and work on the ice so I needed to live in a warm place. I also love San Francisco on the west coast, because it reminds me of watching Full House as a child.

What’s your favorite part of being in Rockin’ Ever After?

It’s Rockin’ and fresh and it’s Disney On Ice’s brand new production. It infuses the old and the new stories with fresh ideas, great skating talent and new ele3ments like a Spanish Web Act that Ariel performs 35 feet in the air!

Are you Single and what’s your perfect man?

I am single and I don’t know what my perfect man is. I think that’s why I am still single.

What’s the future hold for you?

I abslolutely love performing and I love this lifestyle. I would like to work towards being a performance director to share my experience to new performers.
