Over 1,000 expected to attend
On Saturday, August 10, the iconic gay club Score will be celebrating fifteen years on South Beach as the premier destination for music lovers and the LGBT community from around the world. Score’s 15th anniversary theme, “Miami Beach,” will live up to its name as pre-production begins for a full scale, powerhouse block party that will encompass Lincoln Lane between Meridian Street and Meridian Court. The mega block party will feature world renowned brands Absolut, Avion Tequila, Malibu and Chivas Regal along with Miami Beach’s summer colors: pink, blue, orange and green flowing from a 16-foot tent as an array of colors spill from the huge LED stage where RuPaul’s All-Star Nina Flowers & DJ Paulo will play from the stage as well as inside of Score. In addition, right before press time Score confirmed that Karent Sierra, of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Miami, and who is Miami’s No. 1 celebrity dentist will be hosting alongside Miami Beach Commissioner (and hopefully soon to be Mayor) Michael Gongora.
Additional entertainment will be provided by a live band and 10 beautiful female and male dancers and human statues that will greet guests as they walk in. This amazing production will be a FREE event for all of the loyal supporters who have made Score the longest running club on Lincoln Road. Over a thousand music lovers are expected to invade the Lincoln Lane area for this event.
The Block Party takes place from 5 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and is free with invite or flyer and the party continues inside Score until 5am.
DJ Nina Flowers (AKA Jorge Luis Flores Sanchez) brings a triple threat of talent to venues across the globe. Be it his infectious understanding of how to bring music alive on the dance floor, as a DJ and producer; or as a powerfully engaging connection to audiences as a drag performer and it goes without saying, as a makeup artist with skills that can’t be matched by no one; he continues to amaze audiences worldwide.
Jorge was born in the city of Bayamon, Puerto Rico. As a DJ, he started spinning in his teens. He began his practice in the art of female impersonation in 1993. He combined these two skills at 19 years of age in which both his intense passion for music, and his connection to the art form of makeup brought him the ability to create unique characters on the stage. With his talents he began to amaze crowds both as a performer and DJ. Nina’s debut on national television was in 2009 on RuPaul’s Drag Race, this was followed with an on air appearance on RuPaul’s Drag U in 2011. Later in 2012, as a fan favorite she returned by appearing on RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars. As Nina Flowers she continues to display talent, charisma, creativity and most importantly humbleness, with a wide fan base. Today Jorge continues to enthrall audiences across the U.S. and beyond, both as DJ and performer. He holds DJ residencies in two major cities with EPIC Saturdays in Boston, MA, and Tracks Night Club in Denver, CO. He also holds a residency within the major circuit party scene for Matinee North America.
DJ Paulo – Portugese-born PAULO tours non-stop as he has headlined some of the most prestigious parties in the world: Montreal’s “Black & Blue,” New York’s Saint at Large “Black Party,” Alegria, Peter Rauhofer’s “Work!”events, Barcelona’s “Circuit,” Winter & White Parties in Miami, White Party Palm Springs, Fire Island’s Pines Party & Dancing on the Bay, Orlando’s “Gay Days,” Sydney’s Mardi Gras, The “Week” in Rio and Florianopolis’ Carnival, and Taiwan’s Ministry of Sound just to name a few. Outside of his California home base, his club dates have included the Roxy, Crobar (M2), XL, Pacha and currently is a resident at “Viva”(Stage 48) in NYC. Other dates have included Crobar and Hydrate in Chicago and Space, Score and Mansion in Miami. Internationally, he has headlined venues in Brazil (Revolution & The Week), Japan (Ageha), Mexico City (Karmabeat), Montreal (Stereo), Toronto (Guvernment), Amsterdam (Rapido), Ibiza at Amnesia and Trade in London amongst others. Co-founder of Pure Music Productions, his work can be found on Beatport and many other digital download sites. The non-stop demand for PAULO’s unique sound contributed to his being voted DJ/Producer/Remixer of the year in 2011 by JustCircuit.
Score is located in the heart of South Beach, in the thriving and infamous promenade, Lincoln Road. For over a decade, Score has remained the quintessential, gay nightclub experience for both locals and visitors. No other club offers so many variables; people watch on the outdoor terrace while trying the potent frozen drinks; or lounge in the ultra chic, modern lounge and chat with friends. Enthusiastic club revelers experience state of the art lights and sound as some of the world’s most renowned DJ’s visit and draw hundreds to the dance floor. Muscle boys, trendy fashionistas, Latinos and even polo-clad boys, find their own niche among the other beautiful people. Score’s art of reinvention has kept them relevant, which is a phenomenon in the transient world of the nightlife industry. Finding consistent and creative forms of entertainment is of the utmost importance, while having a courteous and attractive staff only enhances Score’s appeal and keeps the locals loyal.
Celebrities seen at Score include Lady GaGa, Pamela Anderson, Katie Perry, Fergie, Gloria Estefan, LMFAO, Neon Hitch, India, Paulina Rubio, Macy Gray, Queen Latifah, Wynter Gordon, Rosie O’Donnell, Dan & Dean (Dsquared twins), Domenico Dolce, Lance Bass, and Brooke Hogan to name a few who drop by and hang out with some of their biggest fans.
