A week ago Monday, Bill’s presented the annual Bartenders’ Boxers and Briefs, a benefit for Tuesday’s Angels. Bartenders from the local community auctioned their underwear on stage and together with the silent auction and 50/50 raised $12,000 for this worthy charity. Congrats to producer Don Clark and the entire Bill’s staff for once again organizing a very successful event. Directly following the auction, The Boardwalk presented a benefit to send Deja and Velvet to Miss Florida F.I. On Wednesday, Hunters presents their Rewards Launch Party where patrons were able to register for their rewards card which has many valuable benefits. Last Thursday, Broward House hosted the Spirit of Hope Reception at the new TAPs Restaurant and Grill on Himmarshee Street in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The evening was a reminder of the great work that Broward House does in our community while at the same time afforded us the opportunity to spend some quality time with fellow community members in the spirit of a great cause. We were very impressed with the new venue that features exotic beers from around the globe for the more adventurous beer connoisseurs. Later that night Village Pub presented a benefit show for April Chanel the current reigning Miss Florida Continental, to send her to the national pageant in Chicago this Labor day Weekend. The next day, Village Pub presented the Mr. Stoli Guy competition where the contestants were Competing to represent Stoli at their Mr. Stoli Guy 2014! Hot Stuff
From the Desk of Joe Marcella
“Stop the madness. Mekka is not closing. When we move, we will make the announcement. In the meantime, continue to enjoy Mekka and Discotekka.
We are not part of any other clubs. The original La Puta Nota party is and will always be in the Discotekka room. Our after parties at Mekka will continue as usual. Some clubs and promoters are spreading rumors that we are closing. I will assure you that we are not.
I have made a lot of friends in Miami, and I love every one of you, just as you love Mekka. I just wanted to put it out there for all you guys to help me stop the negativity. Join our guest-list, call 305-371-3773 or visit MekkaMiami.com. We are open!”
