What's Hot South Florida

A Week ago Tuesday was the 7th annual Hotspots Holiday Celebration, a benefit for the Pride Center at Equality Park, took place today at beautiful W Fort Lauderdale and was the event of the season. According to Robert Boo of the Pride Center there were 487 attendees, making it the largest Holiday celebration yet. A special thanks to the W Hotel, Argenti Designer Jewelers, Adams Interiors and all the businesses that donated items for the silent auction as well as everyone who supported this fabulous event. On Thursday, The LGBT Visitor Center with the sponsorship of The Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce presented their “5th Annual Holigay Celebration & Toy Drive” at the LGBT Visitor Center. Admission was an unwrapped toy benefitting the Miami-Beach Police Department’s Toy Drive and as you can see by the picture a lot of gifts were donated.  Also on Thursday, Village Pub presented their 1st annual holiday Wreath Auction hosted by Electra and thousands was raised for Kids In Distress. On Friday, Rumors and Hobo’s hosted their Customer Christmas Party that featured a free buffet from 6:00pm to 8pm and then at 10:30pm Daisy Deadpetals presented her Daisy’s Kinky Christmas Show with special guest Miss Florida F.I. Brittany Moore. Saturday featured the annual Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade, which once again featured amazingly decorated boats going down the Intracoastal. Later that night the Stable presented the farewell performance of the Lady Fancy as she decided to retire (although we hope she is like Cher and comes out of retirement). Much later that night I went down to Discotekka for their La Puta Nota afterhours to celebrate the birthday of my friend, Milancita. It is obvious how much Milancita is loved by the amount of people that came out to celebrate with her.

Lindsay Lohan today announced the release of her new mobile game, “Lindsay Lohan’s The Price of Fame.” Designed as a parody on celebrity culture and paparazzi, Price of Fame, enables players to become world famous celebrities by creating a virtual self that can purchase outfits, accessories, toys and even pets. “I love this game and am happy to be part of it. It’s so much fun!” said Lohan. The game was developed by Lohan and Space Inch, makers of popular titles “Make it Rain” and “Say the Same Thing.”  Both of which have garnered millions of downloads. “I’m thrilled to have worked with Space Inch on this. Programmer Andy Ross, guitarist of OK Go, did a great job. He understood what I wanted and the game captures a great part of culture and our current media society. This app is humorous, smart, and engaging,” said Lohan.  Lindsay Lohan’s The Price of Fame is available now in the App Store “Best News Games”, in Google Play, and at Amazon.

Le Boy, the new bar opening on 13th street is close to opening. This will be a neighborhood bar with an international feel and feature some of the cutest “Boys” in town.
