Lambda Legal, the well-known civil rights organization that helps the LGBT community nationwide through social work and litigation, is holding their twelfth annual Fort Lauderdale reception on Sunday, March 29 starting at 5 p.m. This event is Lambda Legal’s largest annual fundraiser in South Florida.

The tranquil and lush Bonnet House Museum & Gardens (900 N. Birch Rd., Fort Lauderdale) will play host to this event, which is expected to welcome hundreds of lawyers and LGBT activists from across South Florida. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served. This event is brought to you by co-chairs Robert Kuhn and Ken Keechl.

At the Fort Lauderdale reception, the guest of honor will be Stephen Draft, a former Lambda Legal Fort Lauderdale event co-chair and the curator of Bonnet House Museum & Gardens. Also featured at the event will be Julia Frost, who sued the Hesperia Unified School District in California with Lambda Legal’s help in 2013, alleging that the school district created a hostile environment for gay students and for faculty like Ms. Frost. Kevin Cathcart, Lambda Legal Executive Director, will also be in attendance as the event’s special guest speaker.

Tickets start at $150 per person and can be purchased by going to lambdalegal.org/fortlauderdale15. Individual and corporate sponsorships are also available, at levels ranging from $500 to $25,000. Visit the aforementioned web page for information on how to fill out and submit your sponsorship form.
