The girl group Fifth Harmony is considered to be one of the most successful music acts to have been “discovered” by the Fox reality competition The X Factor. Fifth Harmony consists of five singers: Ally Brooke Hernandez, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane Hansen, Camila Cabello, and Lauren Jauregui. Camila Cabello and Lauren Jauregui are South Florida natives, both having grown up in Miami-Dade County. The group was formed live on The X Factor season two in 2012, after all five of the singers made it past the first round as individuals but failed to progress to mentoring at the judges’ houses. Simon Cowell helped them form a group together, allowing them to advance in the competition. They ended the season placing third.
