October 24 and November 7
Did you know that Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States
The Broward Walk to End Alzheimer’s will begin at 7 a.m. on Saturday, October 24 at Hollywood North Beach Park (3601 N. Ocean Dr., Hollywood). Two weeks later, on Saturday,
Registration begins at 7 a.m. for the Broward Walk and 7:30 a.m. for the Miami-Dade Walk. Then the opening ceremonies will begin for both walks at 8:30 a.m., followed by the walk, which will last from 9:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. To participate in the walk, you must receive at least one donation (of any amount) in your name, which will go directly to the Alzheimer’s Association. The Alzheimer’s Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit whose mission is “to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.” People who have raised over $100 are eligible for a free T-shirt, to be handed out at the event.
