Hotspots Focus on the Community
What makes you happy this holiday season?
This year, a little extra holiday cheer won’t hurt any of us so we reached out to find out what is making people happy. In the words of The Rolling Stones: “You can’t always get what you want. But if you try, sometimes, you get what you need!” All of us at Hotspots sincerely hope that you get what you need this year. May each and every one of you have a Merry Christmas or a Happy Chanukah. If you celebrate something else, have a happy “that.” We are so thankful to count you as one of our readers. Here is what our community is happy for this holiday season.
What makes you happy?
This year a few things will make me happy during the holidays. One, I love the whole process of cooking—setting a creative menu that combines traditional favorites with some new gourmet experiments, shopping for the tastiest ingredients and cooking all the recipes. Two, I’m humbled and honored to open checks that community members are sending to support The Pride Center with end-of-year giving. Finally, I have plans to receive some Christmas cheer from a few of Santa’s elves. Can’t wait to unwrap those presents! –Robert Boo, CEO of The Pride Center at Equality Park
To see our world come together… it’s a beautiful thing… moving forward the harmony.-Dimitri Bakoulis & Ferdinand Cabrera, Genesis Health Institute
Knowing I have an amazing family and incredible friends who love and support me through good times and bad.-Lori Deak, Pride Factory
What makes me happy this holiday season is my profound awareness of absolute bliss in experiencing TRUE PEACE. It seems appropriate as we all embark upon the season singing and wishing good tidings of comfort and great joy but few of us know what that actually means and struggle to find. The vintage Christmas Hymn “LET THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH…..And Let it begin with Me” Resonates the underlying essence that Yes Peace is inherent within us all and is not just a fable that we wish for and feel powerless to achieve. In fact if we all just embrace our personal “stillness” that sacred space which resides in the very core of our being, we could all contribute to that deep yearning of true Peace on Earth and Good Will toward Man. – Andrew Durning, Butlers in the Manor
Hot, steamy Scotch and plenty of parties! – Oren Kiriat- BeWell MedSpa
At The Grand Resort and Spa, we are delighted to provide travelers a first class experience that is guaranteed to exceed their expectations. – Casey Koslowski and Edward Otto Zielke from The Grand Resort and Spa
I love this line from The Grinch “Maybe Christmas doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.” The simple spirit of the season makes me happy. For me it’s about love, health and gratitude.- Lori Lynch, Executive Director of The Hub at the LGBT Visitor’s Center
That I can help people Keep their Pets in their homes with them!!! Thus saving pets and people too!! –Sue Martino, Pet Project for Pets
Seeing people smile and their joy that the season brings them. That’s the thrill I also get from producing events. There’s nothing more special than see people have fun and enjoy themselves. – Luis Morerro from Score, Miami Beach
Happy is such a vague word what makes one person happy doesn’t make another but this holiday season we should all be thankful and happy to have families in our lives and great friends that you can count on material things and gifts do not make a person happy but just a moment having good health makes me happy –Johnny Pak from Georgie’s Alibi in Wilton Manors
I am from a Big Family and that moment when we are all together for The Christmas Eve Dinner is what makes me Happy this Holiday Season. Definitely Family is the most important thing in my life. -Milancita Rodriguez, Milancita.com
What makes me happy is being able to celebrate the holidays with my new fiancée and my families–the blood one and the chosen one. My brother and sister in law are coming to New York to see my show with Kennedy that Christopher is playing for, so everybody’s going to be there. It’s nice to be able to use my career to actually bring us together. I will miss you guys in South Florida, but I’m having a blast with my first New York Christmas. I look forward to making you guys eat it even more in 2017. -Latrice Royale,
