The release of director Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie has made the queer world go crazy. The LGBTQ+ community has been anticipating this movie since Gerwig’s involvement was announced all the way back in 2021. The hype only escalated as One after another LGBTQ+ celebrities were revealed as cast members in the movie, including Ncuti Gatwa, Hari Nef, and Issa Rae to name just a few. Queer people have adored everything about Barbie and Ken, including Ken’s “Buddy” Allan who came with a rainbow-striped shirt in 1964, earring magic Ken in 1993, Barbie’s “Love Wins” Photoshoot with Aimee Song in 2017, and more.
