In a subsequent post, he talked about making Christian music while enjoying his sexuality to the fullest and the two are not mutually exclusive. The post read, “I am allowed to get on my knees for multiple reasons.” While fans praised the song, some also criticized it. One user said, “not how Christianity works.” Actor and singer Tyrese Gibson also accused Lil Nax X of making a mockery of Christianity through a post. Answering his comment, Lil Nax X wrote another post on X, calling the criticism crazy as the song is just about asking god for hope. The post read, “Y’all acting like I posted a video of me burning a church down and peeing on a nativity scene.”
