Stonewall Museum Gala ‘Raising The Bars’ Presentation with 2500 Historic Bars Of The Past

The 2024 Stonewall National Museum Gala is set for February 24th at The Venue in Wilton Manors, promising a night of celebration and support for the LGBTQ+ community. This year’s theme, “Standing on The Shoulders of Heroes,” highlights honorees like marathon swimmer Diana Nyad and LGBTQ+ advocate Stacy Ritter. Special guest Zander Moricz adds to the excitement. There is also a special unveiling of 2500+ gay bar logos curated by GayBarchives founder Art Smith under the ‘Raising The Bars’ program. This program, launched by joined efforts of the Stonewall National Museum Archives & Library and GayBarchives, spotlights LGBTQ+ bars’ history, culture, and representation. There is a plan to expand it to 5000 logos by LGBTQ History Month in October. ‘Raising The Bars’ also includes a gay trivia book, video interviews, exhibits, and events to honor lost bars and celebrate those still serving the community. Tickets start at $350, and Hotspots Happening Out serves as the LGBTQ+ media sponsor. Learn more at stonewall-museum.org./
