On Saturday, August 9, the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida (GMCSF) will kick off Season 16 with its annual Summer Sing at Sunshine Cathedral. GMCSF unites diverse voices to inspire change, break barriers, and uplift the LGBTQ+ community through the unifying power of music.
The event will begin at 10 AM, offering a welcoming space for returning members and potential new singers to experience the energy of the chorus firsthand. Attendees will rehearse alongside current members and get a preview of holiday selections from the upcoming December concert. At 1:30 p.m., auditions will be held for new singers hoping to join the chorus for the new season.
Artistic Director Gabe Salazar will lead the session and introduce highlights from the upcoming Holiday Concert. The day will also include a look back at last season’s standout performances, celebrating the music and community that define GMCSF. Anyone passionate about singing and LGBTQ+ community spirit is encouraged to attend and discover the joy of ensemble performance in a vibrant, inclusive setting. More details are at gmcsf.org
