Following a partnership agreement between local Clear Channel radio XL106.7FM and Come Out With Pride’s owner MBA (Metropolitan Business Association of Orlando, Florida), 3 hours of the main Sunday event will be broadcasted LIVE on XL 106.7. This broadcast coincides with the parade headed by Grand Marshal Stuart Milk.

 

In addition to this noticeable change, MBA also announced a total of 8 official events during the 4 day long celebration. Pride week will open with “LIGHT THE FUZE: A Heroes Ball” the official Kick-Off Party held at The History Center on Thursday October 8. The guest of honor will be Stuart Milk and the 3+ hour long event will officially start the beginning “Since its inception in 2005, Come Out With Pride, Central Florida’s signature Pride event, gets bigger and better with each passing year, continually shattering attendance records and offering exceptional entertainment, food, music, and fun!” MBA president Dr. David Baker-Hargrove said in a statement. There was a record attendance of 45,000 + in 2008. For the third year in a row Come Out With Pride festivities will be held at Lake Eola, in the heart of the city, on October 11. The additional and officially sanctioned events and parties this year will provide downtown Orlando a much needed boost.
