Ybor City celebrates 25 years of this exciting event
Guavaween is Ybor’s annual Halloween street party. The annual event always draws a huge diverse crowd (50,000 revelers have been known to attend!) and truly offers something for everyone. The event is a major fundraiser for the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce.
Guavaween is Ybor’s annual Halloween street party. The annual event always draws a huge diverse crowd (50,000 revelers have been known to attend!) and truly offers something for everyone. The event is a major fundraiser for the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce.
The party takes place on Saturday, October 30, 2010 from 10 am to 3 pm. Guavaween offers many events for kids at their Family Fun Fest – a safe trick-or-treat, live entertainment and performances, a spooky story time, activities, appearances by Tampa Bay Area Sports Mascots and Cheerleaders and a Children’s Costume Parade and contest.
Categories of competition for the Costume Contest include Most Elaborate, Best Couple/Pair, Best Group (3 or more people), Best Look-alike, Best Cross-dresser, Best Kink, Most Sexy/Best Body, Most Unexpected, Best Overall and Crowd Favorite/People’s Choice. Cash prize of $2,000 will be awarded to the Best Overall Costume and various unique prizes will be awarded in other categories.
