“I’m always respinning what I do and so I thought how about doing an all live vocal show,” Posa said of An Evening At The Birdcage. “There hasn’t been something like this.”
“I thought, ‘Why not get the best?'” he continued about Femia, Brinberg and Burlington.
He has known the three other impersonators for many years and thought that together, they could put on quite a show.
Femia has been impersonating Judy Garland since the early 1990s and has won many awards and has performed Judy Garland Live! and Don’t Tell Mama, other shows in New York and all over the United States.
Brinberg has a show called Simply Barbra which he performs all over the world. He has performed with Marvin Hamlisch and at Stephen Sondheim’s birthday concert at the Library of Congress, at Carnegie Hall and on Broadway with Whoopi Goldberg.
Burlington has been in the entertainment business for 20 years and performs as Cher and also as Judy Garland and Michael Jackson, and as Thirsty Burlington, who is the reigning Miss Gay Massachusetts.
Posa is going to use video for the opening and closing to give the show a “multimedia effect” he said.
“This is our first endeavor,” Posa said. “It’s not rocket science- we do what we do individually and this is us all weaving it together.”
Posa is excited to debut the show at The Manor and hopes to tour with it and perhaps perform it at casinos.
“We’d love it if it were a touring thing,” he said.
