The event you’ve been hitting the gym for is finally here. Winter Party Festival, one of the biggest parties for the GLBT community, will take place on March 2 through 7.
The Amazing Winter Party is Right Around the Corner
Over 10,000 guests from around the world attend the annual six-day extravaganza, which features some of the most spectacular venues Miami offers, fantastic parties and the some of the very best international DJ talent.
Winter Party was launched in 1994 as a one-time charity dance event on the sands of beautiful South Beach. The party was so successful, that it was expanded and became an annual event that people looked forward to. Besides being an amazing week-long party, the events benefit the GLBT community nationally and locally. One third of the net proceeds of WPF support the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force’s efforts to take action, build power and create change for the GLBT community. The remaining two-thirds are donated to local service organizations through a grant-making process administered by the Miami Foundation (formerly Dade Community Foundation).
DJ Abel
Miami’s own DJ Abel is known as a “uber-DJ”. His production team, Rosabel, was behind Billboard dance hits including “C’mon Get Funky”, Rihanna’s “Only Girl In The World”, Jennifer Holliday’s “And I’m Telling You (I’m Not Going)”, Jeannie Tracy’s “The Power” and “Don’t You want My Love” featuring Debbie Jacobs. He will spin at the Mercury Rising party.
DJ Phil B
DJ Phil has played just about every major circuit event, including Gay Disney, White Parties in Palm Springs and Miami, Winter Party Festival, Mardi Gras and Southern Decadence in New Orleans, San Francisco’s Magnitude and Aftershock, Sundance at Russian River, the San Diego Zoo Party, and several Gay Pride events. He will spin at the Under One Sun Pool Party.
DJ Alyson Calagna
The pioneer behind the sound of “Omtronica,” DJ Alyson Calagna has worked her magic all over the United States and in Brazil, Mexico, Montreal and beyond. She has headlined some of the world’s biggest dance and circuit events and regularly plays to sold-out crowds at some of the largest venues around the world, including Pacha, Space, Crobar, The Government and more. She will spin at Winter Party Beach Party.
DJ Charlmix
Colombian native DJ Charlmix has become the new sensation in the circuit world with his Latin-based drums and percussion rhythm. He has lived in Miami for the past seven years and has made a name for himself spinning at Unity, Score, Karu & Y, Karma, Ultra Festival, Summerfest, The Palace, and Winter Party’s world-famous Under One Sun Pool Party. He will spin at Winter Party Beach Party Opening.
DJs Dave and Gerardo
Dave & Gerardo are a team in every sense of the word: as DJs, producers, and lovers. They first met in New York and quickly recognized their mutual love for house music. At 26 and 24, and less than two years on the scene, they have appeared at venues across the U.S., Canada and South America. They will spin at Mercury Rising.
DJ Twisted Dee
Twisted Dee is the resident deejay at the Fire Island Pines, where she has earned the distinction “Best DJ on Fire Island” for several years. She has been featured at Ascension Party Fire Island, Winter Party Festival in Miami, NYC Pride, Rio and Sao Paulo Gay Prides, Carnival and New Years Eve in Rio de Janeiro, and Bal En Blanc in Montreal. She will spin at Under One Sun Pool Party.
DJ Eddie Elias
The New Jersey-based, Dominican-born DJ Eddie Elias has been wowing audiences in New York City and beyond with his unique sound since his first professional gig in 2000. He’s known for deep, progressive grooves, his skills at layering many tracks and for his instincts at working a crowd. He will spin at Afterglow.
DJ Joe Gauthreaux
DJ/Producer Joe Gauthreaux has been in the business for 14 years. In 2009, Joe raised the bar for himself as he began producing his own remixes, which include “You Are” by Tony Moran featuring Frenchie Davis, “The Power of Music” by Kristine W, “Feel Good” by Edson Pride featuring Jeanie Tracy, among many more. He will spin at Afterglow.
DJ Stephen Grondin
From Mt. Laurier, Quebec, Stephan Grondin has played at eight Black & Blue balls and two consecutive Bal En Blanc events in Montreal and three consecutive Altitude (Gay Ski Week) events in Whistler. He has monthly residencies at Fly in Toronto, Parking and Unity in Montreal, Splash in New York, Rise in Boston, Celebrities in Vancouver, Score in Miami. He will spin at Ignite.
DJ Theresa
Having headlined alongside top talent ranging from Macy Gray, Roger Sanchez, Abel Ramos, Chris Kaesar, Hector Fonseca and The Scumfrog, DJ Theresa has a following that grows by the minute. Named “Best Female DJ of 2009”, she holds residencies at Pink Elephant and M2 (NYC), Parking (Montreal), and Megga (Sao Paulo), Lima (DC). She will spin at Winter Party Matinee Opener.
DJ Taito Tikaro
Resident DJ at two of the biggest clubs in the world, Amnesia and Space (both in Ibiza), Taito Tikaro is considered one of top European artists in the global electronic scene. He has released more than 50 chart-topping remixes and original productions, including “Automatic”, “Today Is My Day” and “Superstars”. He recently released the best-selling LaLache! and Matinée Winter Compilation 2010. He will spin at Winter Party Matinee.
DJ Drew Tribe
Drew Tribe has a monthly residency at Score. Internationally, he plays at venues such as Bubu Lounge (Sao Paulo), Club Unity (Montreal), Sunset Discoteca (Medellin) and Romeo Club (Bogota). One of his originally produced tracks was featured on DJ Abel’s “Alegria Universo” CD Compilation in 2008 and his other productions were featured on DJ William lJmana’s “Sexy Boy & Live” Le Boy CD compilations. He will spin at Ignite.
