Miami Beach Pride is the largest one day event on The Beach and one that you won’t want to miss. Last year, more than 35,000 people from all over the world descended upon the city to celebrate this momentous occasion.
This year, the event will take place on Saturday, April 16 on Ocean Drive from noon to 8 p.m. The exciting, free, all-day event features a parade and a Festival with exciting celebrity presentations and musical performances, GLBT-friendly vendors and businesses, refreshments and food, and a family-friendly play zone. Leading up to the event, there is a full schedule of special events, including the Leaders, Legends and Lovelies Ball on April 14; Mova’s Block Party on April 15; Miss Richfield performance at Colony Theatre on April 15; URGE, the official Saturday Night Pride Party at Ice Palace Studios West on April 16; and a Pride at Sea Cruise after the event on April 18.
Cohen will lead the Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade beginning at noon on April 16th at 5th Street and Ocean Drive. The parade will continue along Ocean Drive. Following the parade, the festivities continue at Lummus Park, between 10th Street and 14th Street, with exciting musical performances, and the festival.
The event has put Miami Beach on the map with other big cities like Sao Paulo, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and Madrid that officially honor the GLBT community by hosting a city-supported pride event. Make sure to come out, make new friends and celebrate your pride!
