The openly gay actor is most recognized for his television role of Dr. Craig Wesley on NBC’s “Days of Our Lives,” but is a Broadway veteran with over 25 years of experience. His first Broadway role was at the age of 18. The role was Mike Costa in A Chorus Line. He went on to appear as Warren Sheffield in Meet Me In St. Louis. His other stage roles include Anatoly in “Chess,” Robert in “Company,” Vernon Gersh in “They’re Playing Our Song,” Joe Hardy in “Damn Yankees, Baron de Varville in “The Legend of Camille,” Phil Kunin in “Three Guys Naked From The Waist Down,” Rapunzel’s prince in “Into The Woods,” Conrad Birdie in “Bye Bye Birdie,” George Musgrove in “Little Me,” Tulsa in “Gypsy,” and Denim in “To Sir With Love.”

His role as Dr. Craig Wesley on “Days of Our Lives” made him a fan favorite. He was nominated for Best Villian in Soap Opera Digest and was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Emmy by TV Guide. In 2000, he portrayed Dr. Craig Wesley on Friends opposite Matt LeBlanc character Joey’s Dr. Drake Ramoray. In 2005, Spiritas showed his singing chops on Days Of Our Lives, when his character sang “The Sweetest Nights and The Finest of Days” at characters Chloe and Brady’s wedding. He released a CD single of the song and contributed a portion of CD sales to the Red Cross for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Spirtas has had roles on many nighttime television shows as well, including L.A. Heat, V.I.P, Fired Up, Silk Stalkings, and Quantum Leap. The attractive actor always gets drawn back into his Broadway roots.
