On Monday, June 27th Ken, Lloyd and the entire management and staff of Scandals and The Stable produced a benefit at the Stable for one of their own, Rambo. It was extremely obvious how much Rambo is loved in this community because the Stable was jam packed for hours. It literally brought tears to my eyes to see how the community came together. In the end $5,390 was raised. I hope Rambo is able to get well real soon and I for one am looking forward to seeing him behind the bar once again! Wednesday night was the 18th anniversary of Twist and as it is every year it was packed in every room. Some of the prestigious community members I saw were Commissioner Michael Gongora, Dale Stine, Karl Zeblotny (original owner of the Wire), Noel Leon, Bill Halquist, Bill Kelly, The group form SoBAP, Mark Haines, Steve Routhaus, Stephen R. Lang, many member from Hotspots and Genre Latino Staff, Adora and hubby Teddy, The staff of Creative Male, Jessie from the Palace and hundreds of other well wishers. The entire staff of Hotspots Magazine would like to wish Joel, Richard and the entire staff and management of Twist a very happy anniversary with many more to come!

Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people often face unique challenges in Latino/a families and churches. Out Pop music star and former NSYNC member Lance Bass is hosting The Pop Ten, a new weekly music and pop culture show on Friday nights from 10 pm – 12:00 am ET on SiriusXM OutQ, ch.108. As listeners across the country get their weekends started, Lance counts down the top ten songs and pop culture happenings for the week, joined in studio by celebrity guests and a regular crew of his closest friends.

The Pop Ten music countdowns will feature Lance’s favorite tracks of the week—dance, pop, rock, world music, country, plus music from new artists he loves—as well as contributions from fans and friends via Twitter @lancebass, Facebook and live calls from listeners. When asked a few weeks ago Lance said “I can’t wait to host this weekly pop culture party on SiriusXM.” “I want The Pop Ten to be the soundtrack my fans jumpstart start their weekends with.” “Lance is a pop music aficionado whose personality and perspective—as both a fan and an artist—make him a great fit for SiriusXM,” said Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer, SiriusXM. “As an artist, he’s earned his spot in pop culture history. As the host of The Pop Ten, he will delight millions of longtime fans and have fun making new ones.” Lance will host the show from New York and LA. An encore presentation of the show will air Saturday nights on OutQ from 9 pm – 11 pm ET. For more information, visit SiriusXM.com
