Henning Von Berg

Henning von Berg was a corporate engineer for 13 years, when in 1997 at the age of 35 he decided to make his hobby of photography (self taught) into his new profession. He gained attention from his unusual group shots and the world took notice when in 1999 he organized the world’s first and only male nude photo shoot inside a Parliament Building. Many of Henning’s eye-catching images elevated Henning’s HvB Photography into a recognizable label with an international reputation.

Henning von Berg was a corporate engineer for 13 years, when in 1997 at the age of 35 he decided to make his hobby of photography (self taught) into his new profession. He gained attention from his unusual group shots and the world took notice when in 1999 he organized the world’s first and only male nude photo shoot inside a Parliament Building. Many of Henning’s eye-catching images elevated Henning’s HvB Photography into a recognizable label with an international reputation. One of his very first images was selected for the anthology book “Exposed – A Celebration of the Male Nude from 90 of the World’s Greatest Photographers.”

There tens of thousands of photographers and yet Henning has definitely established a unique and recognizable point of view. He prefers to work with Male/Female amateurs; his oldest model so far was a 108 year old lady. According to Henning “My most favorite photography subjects are aristocrats and prostitutes, disabled people and athletes, common folk and celebrities. Coming from a very traditional family background, I intentionally break taboos and rules to open new prospective.”

One of his latest shoots was in Orlando at the home of a sweet elderly lesbian couple. It featured a prop of a big lion from a circus carousel in Vegas, which was placed at the edge of their pool. Sexy model, Bobby Momenteller got naked and on the lion in many different poses. We here at Hotspots loved this photo so much that we put it on the cover of this very magazine you are reading.

Henning is super excited about his upcoming shoot in July in Vienna at the Kunsthistorisches Museum (Museum of History). It will be the first time the giant historical halls of this imperial palace will allow a photographer to shoot artistic nudes; a testament to Henning’s talent.

Something that sets Henning apart from many other photographers is that he enjoys discovering new talented photographers. One such example is Mark Henderson, who was unknown and since Henning discovered him has had 4 big format coffee table books published within 4 years.

Approaching 15 years as a professional photographer, Henning has been in over 500 publications on four continents, had many exhibitions in galleries and museums and has had many of his works sold at fine art photography auctions.

Henning is so in demand that he has residencies in many locations. In the summer season he works in Europe (Berlin, Vienna, London, Prague and Amsterdam) and in the winter season, he comes to America for 6 months (Florida and California).
