The Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber Of Commerce (MDGLCC) will honor corporate and individual supporters of the Miami-Dade LGBT community at its 11th Annual Gala Awards Celebration, “The Orange Gala,” on Saturday, June 23, at the Hilton Miami Downtown Hotel, 1601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami. The honorees were selected for their long-term commitment to fostering diversity, as well as for their efforts in contributing to the overall well-being and quality of life in South Florida.

Joining the honorees at this year’s Gala as guest emcee will be South Florida actress Sally Bondi. One of South Florida’s busiest stage performers, Bondi has appeared in productions of “Superior Donuts,” “In The Next Room,” “The Vibrator Play,” “Nite Mother,” “Hairspray,” “Madeline’s Christmas” and “My Fair Lady.” She has also appeared in numerous movies for both the large and small screens.

Bringing a little Disco fever to the Gala will be the cast of “The Donkey Show,” the celebrated smash hit musical that will take Miami by storm as the city’s grooviest pop-up club when it debuts at the Adrienne Arsht Center on July 13. “The Donkey Show” features the hustle and boogie of beloved ’70s disco hits and the opportunity to “love the nightlife” by interacting with members of the cast.

Also performing will be Circ X, an interactive performance troupe of inter-actors, dancers and circus artists. The performers incorporate corporeal mime, European clowning, comedy, street theater and burlesque to create dynamic performances that are wild, intense, sexy and outrageous.

Rounding out the evening will be DJ Billy Kelly, co-founder and director of the Winter Music Conference (WMC), the largest dance music convention in the world. A legend on the DJ circuit for nearly four decades, Kelly was named 1980 Miami DJ of the Year by Billboard Magazine, and received multiple Gold and Platinum Recording Industry Association of America Sales Awards for his efforts with artists including Donna Summer, KC & The Sunshine Band, Depeche Mode, Madonna, Eminem, Pink, Missy Elliot, Trick Daddy, Outkast and C&C Music Factory.

Kicking off the Gala festivities will be the MDGLCC’s silent auction featuring more than 100 items including Source Event’s “Legendary Danube” cruise from Budapest to Prague this August. Also up for bid will be an autographed basketball from the 2012 Miami Heat players, theater tickets; spa experiences; IKEA furniture & accessories; restaurant gift certificates; travel packages; and “staycations” at the Shore Club, Mondrian, Epic, Mayfair and Westin Diplomat,

among others.
