Last Tuesday was the Bi Monthly Mack Luncheon, which this time tool place at Thasos on Oakland Park Blvd. The food was delectable (recommend the Salmon Salad…YUM). I can’t wait for the next Mack Lunch in March. On Thursday, the Village Pub presented an Evening at the Birdcage which starred by Buddy Joe Posa, along with his partner in crime Thirsty Burlington. As usual the 2 of them put on a fab show to the delight of everyone there. Friday afternoon, Tea with Toy (Michael Toy that is…well he is British), celebrated the 88th birthday of Hotspots’ own Pompano Bill. Many friends and loved ones came out to celebrate with Pompano, and of course I was there to wish my good friend a very Happy 88th! Later that night, Cashetta was back with her fabulous show at the Alibi. I couldn’t find her at first because she has lost so much weight she is half her old self. Congrats to Cashetta (the other Scott….LOL) for looking FAB! Saturday started out with The SMART Ride 10 distributing the over $1Million that was raised by the participants of this year’s ride at ArtServe. A special thank you to Village Pub and Rumors for the refreshments (pic inserted is not of the check presentation but rather from the ride. We loved it so much, we couldn’t resist). Later that night, Score’s Bigger Saturdays featured the sounds of RuPaul’s Season 1 and All Stars own DJ Nina Flowers. Also on Saturday, The Manor featured 2 big events; recording artist Vernessa Mitchell, who rocked the house, and George Coronado’s (Give Me A beat productions) birthday extravaganza. It was a great party which lasted to 4 am.

Inspired by the overlooked gas stations and rest stops of the Texas highways, award-winning Writer/Director Yen Tan’s (Ciao, Happy Birthday), minimalist drama PIT STOP will be available across all digital platforms now, before debuting on DVD February 4th from Wolfe Video. Illustrating the parallel lives of two gay men living in a small rural town, the film stars Bill Heck (TV’s “Pan Am”) as Gabe and Marcus DeAnda (K-11) as Ernesto, who are both searching for love when they fortuitously cross paths at the local gas station. Amy Seimetz (HBO’s “Family Tree”) plays Gabe’s ex-wife, with Alfredo Maduro (Twiharder) as Ernesto’s former lover, both of whom still factor into their former partner’s lives. During its run on the film festival circuit, PIT STOP garnered numerous awards. PIT STOP takes a subtle and eloquent approach in telling the parallel stories of two gay men in a small Texas town. There’s Gabe: a contractor who’s getting over an ill-fated affair with a married man and finds solace in the relationship he still harbors with his ex-wife, Shannon, and their daughter, Cindy; and there’s Ernesto: a Hispanic lumber yard worker in the midst of splitting up with his live-in boyfriend, Luis, as he receives news from the hospital that his former love, Martin, is in a coma. At the end, when Gabe and Ernesto meet for a one-nighter – having endured all the struggles and heartbreaks and wondering if they’ll ever find love again – they face the possibility that they might just be meant for each other. PIT STOP has a runtime of 80 minutes; is not rated and can be purchased at WolfeVideo.com on Feb 4 for only $19.95. For more information, visit PitStopTheMovie.com.
