Ultimate Miami Drag Queen

The second Ultimate Miami Drag Queen contest, organized by Ultimate Miami, LLC, is one of many competitions that showcases rising talent across South Florida, from Key West to the Palm Beaches. The winner receives $5000 in cash and the title of Ultimate Miami Drag Queen for 2014.

The competition takes place at Stage 305 at Magic City Casino (450 NW 37th Ave., Miami) on Saturday, June 14 at 9 p.m. Celebrities Chad Michaels, Evelyn “Champagne” King and Tiffany will fly in to be a part of the evening; Michaels and King will be performing and Tiffany is a special guest.

Chad Michaels has been a well-known Cher impersonator for many years and gained international acclaim for his appearances in season four of the reality competition RuPaul’s Drag Race as well as RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars, winning the latter series. Chad Michaels is no stranger to the Ultimate Miami Drag Queen contest as he performed at Magic City Casino last year.

Evelyn “Champagne” King first broke into the music scene in 1978 with her top ten hit “Shame,” which was a success not only in the United States but worldwide as well. Her 1982 single “Love Come Down” was similarly successful. King can also boast a half-dozen top ten singles on the Billboard dance charts.

Special guest Tiffany reached the top of the Billboard pop charts twice, with “I Think We’re Alone Now” and “Could’ve Been,” both off her 1987 debut album. Tiffany sold over five million albums in the United States between 1987 and 1990 and reigned for a time as the “pop teen queen.”
