The South Florida Symphony Orchestra opens its season with the Tropical Beats Series “Moonlight Treasures” on Saturday, October 11 at 7 p.m. Featuring members of the Blue Door String Quartet, the music by Dohnányi and Beethoven will serenade guests at the stunning penthouse of host Shabnam Alhibi in downtown Fort Lauderdale’s Corinthian Condominiums.
“The South Florida Symphony Orchestra looks forward to treating our audience with a special evening of diverse music,” said Jacqueline Lorber, President and CEO of the South Florida Symphony Orchestra. “Written 100 years apart, Beethoven’s classically restrained work juxtaposes beautifully with the more dissonant and contemporary work of Dohnányi.”
Whitney La Grange (violin), Mario Goto (viola), and Arthur Cook (cello) will perform Dohnányi’s Serenade for String Trio in C major, Op.10 and Beethoven’s String Trio in C minor Op. 9. No.3. Before the concert, guests will savor wine-paired sumptuous appetizers donated by Lenore Nolan-Ryan Cooking School and Catering.
