Celebrating the Opening of the Dr. Phillips Center

Saturday, November 8

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts (445 S. Magnolia Avenue, Orlando) celebrates its grand opening with a month full of events free of charge to the public. One of these events brings celebrated singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow to Orlando to inaugurate the Seneff Arts Plaza, one component of the two-block entertainment complex. Her concert welcomes one and all and will start at 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 8.

Sheryl Crow, a native of Kennett, Missouri, has been a household name for the last twenty years due to her achievements in pop music. Her second album, Sheryl Crow, earned her another two Grammy Awards and earned her multiple platinum singles, such as “If It Makes You Happy,” “A Change Would Do You Good,” and “Everyday Is A Winding Road.” Her most recent album, Feels Like Home, was released in 2013. She has won nine Grammy Awards in total and has sold 17 million albums in the United States and 50 million worldwide.

A noted advocate, Sheryl Crow has spoken out against war and for gay rights and women’s reproductive rights. She is also well-known for her charity work, supporting the Scleroderma Research Foundation and the Susan G. Komen Foundation (Crow herself is a survivor of breast cancer).
