A week ago Monday the Boardwalk presented the 2nd annual Pink Bra Auction, which was a benefit for the Susan G. Komen south Florida chapter. Many bars/businesses participated and Bling-out pink bras. Between the bra auction and the silent auction, thousands were raised for this incredible charity.  On Thursday, The 6th annual Fort Lauderdale Gay and Lesbian Film Festival had their Centerpiece movie, Beyond Love, at the Classic Gateway Theatre and was followed by the after party at Stache. On Saturday, The South Florida Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, the House of the Rising Sun presented their annual Fall Car Wash at the Stable and anyone who was driving down Oakland Park that afternoon, could see they definitely got attention! Later that night Noche Latina Saturdays at the Manor celebrated their hostess, Viva Mirage’s, 10th anniversary of Female Impersonation with décor, go-go papi’s, productions and special guest Miss Florida, Brittany Moore as well as a performance by Willow Bearce Austin.  Speaking of Miss Florida, she performed all over South Florida this weekend including Palace, Rumors, Manor and Azucar. Brittany will be making her next South Florida tour in December so stay tuned. Sunday night was the Closing night film of the FLGLFF, Queen of Amsterdam followed by the Closing night party at the beautiful Bahia Mar on the beach. The food, atmosphere, attendees and the hotel were all gorgeous and was the perfect finale to a great festival. Congrats to my friend (yes, I am admitting it in print) Mark Gilbert for directing this festival and giving Fort Lauderdale a Gay and Lesbian Film Festival we can be proud of!
