Birdcage Sundays at CYN

111 SW 2nd Avenue is an iconic nightclub spot in Fort Lauderdale’s gay community. Many of us have partied there over the years and have lots of great memories. It is currently known as CYN Nightclub, and this Sunday, November 2, will be the grand opening of Birdcage Sundays. This 10-hour weekly party will start at 6 p.m. with a T-dance on the patio, music by a resident DJ, and no cover. Starting at 10 p.m., the main room opens for the infamous ITB (In the Biz) night, with rotating DJs until 4 a.m. and no cover for ITB guests.

The T-dance will feature a fun outdoor feeling and the ITB party will be a club feeling with a cast of entertainers including female impersonators Daisy Deadpetals, Erika Norell, TP Lords and Sasha Lords, as well as special guests. They will also feature a dance crew, an aerial team, and much more.

For those of you who have not been there in the last few weeks to see the sneak preview before the grand opening, you are going to be impressed. They have put half a million dollars into the nightclub and it is quite amazing. You will not even believe you are in the same location.

Our mission is to ensure that every guest has a good time!  The revamp of our Sunday night “In The Biz” party, and a Vegas-style nightclub experience that creates opportunities for lifelong memories right here in Fort Lauderdale, are long overdue. On November 2, we’ll begin with something familiar: the T-dance at 6 p.m., and great music playing as the sun sets.  At 10 p.m. we will open the doors to the main room, CYN.  I’m sure that everyone will be pleased with the changes and efforts that our staff have made to give all of South Florida and their guests an INCREDIBLE experience.  We also have electric hookahs and we’re continuing the In the Biz no-cover special that we’ve all come to know and love.”

CYN is also open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Thursdays is Ladies’ Night and features the sounds of DJ GQ. Fridays is Confessions with DJ Frankie P (from Hits 97.3) and hosted by DJ Frankie Fresh. Saturdays is Envy with music by Miami DJ Top Feelin.
