30th Annual White Party Week: The Diamond Jubilee

In 1985, the first-ever White Party was held in Miami Beach, raising $16,000 for HIV/AIDS service organizations. Last year, over $600,000 was raised between the ticket sales at the signature White Party and the eleven other parties that made up the White Party Week. Organizers are hoping to raise even more money this year.

Care Resource, an HIV/AIDS service organization serving people in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, benefits from the proceeds raised at White Party. Rick Siclari, CEO of Care Resource, summed up the history of White Party thusly: “The White Party was created by a wonderful group of altruistic and compassionate people drawn together – responding to a dreadful disease that had caused tragic losses and much personal grief.”

This year is White Party’s diamond jubilee, and the parties are more grand and exciting than ever before. The 30th anniversary year boasts thirteen major events, one of which will be happening in Key West. Crowds will begin to converge on Miami Beach on Wednesday, November 26, with the first party happening the next night. The final party will be presented on Monday, December 1.

Unlike last year, there will not be a welcome center where people can purchase tickets. Tickets must be purchased either online at whiteparty.org/shop or at the doors of the events. Prices per event will be listed throughout.

Here’s a calendar of events that summarizes all thirteen of this year’s parties.

Thursday, November 27

White Journey – Luis Morera, Jerry Torres, Eliad Cohen and Jared Needle present the “Papa Party.” Eliad Cohen and DJ Joe Gauthreaux will be helping people kick off White Party Week on Thanksgiving night at Cameo Nightclub (1445 Washington Avenue). The warm-up set will be played by DJ Kidd Madonny. Don’t miss this top-of-the-line show featuring the best in production values, music and video! (10 p.m. to 5 a.m., $20)

Friday, November 28

White Gaythering – Hôtel Gaythering (1409 Lincoln Road) hosts a happy hour mixer meant to gather partygoers together before they head out to the White Dreams party. Absolut Vodka features an open bar between 7 and 8 p.m. The hotel is also giving away complimentary one-day passes to their men’s only self-spa. (7 p.m. to 10 p.m., free)

White Dreams – This party is presented by White Party Week in association with Hilton Wolman’s Salvation. Let all your dreams come true tonight at Club Space (34 NE 11th Street, Miami) as you are treated to an experience that will engulf nearly every single one of your senses. DJs Alain Jackinsky and Ivan Gomez will be spinning at this event. (10 p.m. to 8 a.m., $75)

Saturday, November 29

White Splash Pool Party – Soak in some rays, take in the sights of the gorgeous eye candy, and enjoy music poolside at the National Hotel (1677 Collins Avenue). This pool party, produced with the help of Stereo Entertainment, features the talents of internationally-renowned producer DJ Grind and the sounds of DJ Sushiman. National Hotel guests automatically receive two complimentary tickets to this party. (11 a.m. to 7 p.m., $35)

The White Party – The White Party is undergoing a renaissance this year as it returns to its early evening roots at a new venue, the Pérez Art Museum (1103 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami). DJ David Knapp, a two-decade veteran of the White Party, will be performing alongside Sam Hyken and the White Party Symphony. Elaine Lancaster will serve as hostess. Attendees will enjoy breathtaking views of Biscayne Bay as they celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of this signature party in style. Catering by Stephen Starr Events. (7 p.m. to midnight, $237)

Cirque Blanc – This one’s for the ladies. DJ Affect will be providing the music as actresses Yara Martinez (Jane the Virgin, Alpha House) and Whitney Mixter (The Real L Word) host the women’s White Party event live from Nikki Beach (1 Ocean Drive). Produced by Pandora Events. (10 p.m. to 4 a.m., $20)

White Starz – Over a thousand sexy men will be writhing to the sick beats at Score (1437 Washington Avenue). The fun times you have here at White Starz will make for memories that will last a lifetime (or at least until next year’s party). Superstar DJs Paulo and Isaac Escalante will be spinning for a crowd that is ready to party into the early morning. (10 p.m. to 7 a.m., $75)

Sunday, November 30

Muscle Beach Party – This year’s theme is “Perlas en el Paraiso” (Pearls in Paradise), and once you step foot on the 12th Street Beach and see the thousands of beautiful men, you will see what they mean by “pearls”…only the best of everything will do for this party! Speaking of excellence in every category, well-known DJs Tristan Jaxx and Micky Friedmann are ready to crank the energy for this party up to 11! VIP admission includes express admission, an open bar and access to an elevated VIP lounge. ($105, VIP $160, $8 per mixed beverage drink ticket, $5 per beer and non-alcoholic beverage drink ticket)

White Sunset Tea Dance – Don’t you just love a good block party? The Palace (1200 Ocean Drive) does, so they are putting on one cool party to start off the evening, and the best part about it is that it’s all free! DJs Billy Lace and Nando will provide the music and the Palace Queens, go-go dancers, aerialists, and other performers will provide the entertainment! (4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Free)

Noche Blanca – This Sunday night party is presented in association with URGE Miami. DJ Abel will be playing for the crowds at Mansion (1235 Washington Avenue), which boasts what they call the most elaborate sound and lights system in Miami Beach. See for yourself and go to the final dance party of the weekend. (10 p.m. to 4 a.m., $75)

Monday, December 1

White Horizons – As the rest of the city goes to work on Monday morning, you can dance your cares away all the way through to lunchtime at Mekka (950 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami). DJ Morabito will be providing the soundtrack for a very manic Monday! Produced by Hilton Wolman Events. (5 a.m. to noon, $35)

Swan Song – This event is the last time you will be able to see the people you met at White Party Week (that is, of course, until next year!). DJ Deanne will be spinning as everyone has a great time, bids farewell to another fabulous year for the White Party, and says thank you to Care Resource for the services they give to the south Florida community. Twist (1057 Washington Avenue) is the host venue for this legendary party. (11 p.m. to 5 a.m., free)

WhiteHaus 3 – This massive fourteen-hour dance party is the only White Party event to be held away from Miami, at the Island House (1129 Fleming Street) in Key West. This party is all-male, clothing-optional, and super-risqué! Wear white or nothing at all as you dance to the beats of DJ Cris A.M. in the company of hundreds of hot men. (2 p.m. to 4 a.m., free)
