The Celebrate Israel Festival, the biggest South Florida gathering honoring the Jewish State in more than a decade, is expected to draw thousands of people May 3 with a packed lineup of Israeli artists, musicians, foods, activities, and much more.

The Florida chapter of the Israeli-American Council (IAC), the preeminent Israeli-American organization nationwide, is organizing the all-day Celebrate Israel Festival, which will take place at C.B. Smith Park in Pembroke Pines between 11 a.m and 7 p.m.

“While we are good at rallying to Israel’s side in challenging times, we also must remember to celebrate Israel whenever we can – and what better time than right after Israel’s 67th Independence Day?” said IAC Florida Regional Director Denise Tamir. “With the IAC Celebrate Israel Festival, we can share the beauty of Israel’s art, culture, and music with everyone.”

More than 7,500 people from across South Florida are expected to attend the IAC Celebrate Israel Festival, which will feature a free kid’s fun zone, an artists’ pavilion, a Kosher food court, and all-day main stage entertainment with the Bamachol Dance group of the Michael Ann Russell Jewish Community Center (MAR-JCC), the Moshav Band, international children’s entertainer Orna Datz, Israeli pop star Shlomi Shabat, and many others.

Among the top attractions at the festival will be a Mahane Yehuda Market – styled after the colorful and dynamic outdoor marketplace in Jerusalem — and a model of the ancient Western Wall, the most sacred spot in Judaism. The festival will also feature a mini Tel Aviv beach and an Israeli coffee shop. Popular Israeli activities will also include a backgammon contest, Israeli-style Karaoke, and Israeli folk-dancing. Israeli street foods such as hummus, salads, barbeque, watermelon, and more will also bring a taste of the Jewish State to Florida.

To add to the excitement, a Lexus GS350 will be raffled off and the two Celebrate Israel Facebook photo contest winners will be announced for the grand prize — a free ticket to Israel.

Tickets are $6 in advance for adults and children under 12; $6 for children and $10 for adults at the door. For more information about the IAC Florida Celebrate Israel Festival, please visit iacflorida.com.
