Recently I was in town for Gay Disney Week, and one place I really wanted to try while I was in Orlando was Jet’s Pizza. I know friends who really liked their pizza, so I had to see what all the fuss was about. I like to consider myself a connoisseur of pizza, so I figure if anyone would know a good pie, it would be me.
This specific Jet’s Pizza is located at 3122 E. Colonial Dr., near the intersection of Colonial and Maguire and right next to Fashion Square Mall. Most of the business this location does consists of carryout and delivery orders, but there are a couple of nice little tables where people can “dine in” and enjoy their pizza and beverages if they so choose. I brought our webmaster and social media manager, Jay, along with me, and in the middle of the ride, we were caught in a heavy summer rainstorm. While eating outside wasn’t an option, we were still looking forward to what types of pizza we would be eating (or devouring).
We were greeted by the evening manager, Brandi, who was very nice and helpful and told us allabout what we would be sampling. First, we were given a thin-crust barbecue chicken pizza with mozzarella cheese, bacon, and onions and a slight barbecue sauce drizzle (a small, which we shared, is $11.26 before tax). Jay and I both agreed that this pizza was our favorite. One thing I liked a lot is that all the ingredients were brought together into one delicious pie so seamlessly. Jay liked that the sauce wasn’t too heavy, and also that the thin crust was evenly crisp 
Then we tried the pepperoni deep dish pizza. For reference, deep dish pizzas are the same price as regular or thin crust pizzas ($9.09 for a small). Jet’s Pizza prides itself on having the best Detroit-style deep dish pizza in the country, and I wanted to see if their deep dish measured up. I was pleasantly surprised! Jay liked that the pizza edges were crisp and I liked the taste of the warm cheese and the pizza sauce together. I am happy to give their Detroit-style my seal of approval!
Finally, we had some of their famous Jet’s Bread. The bread is baked with mozzarella cheese on top, and then brushed with butter, garlic and Romano cheese, served with their pleasantly zippy pizza sauce. ($5.99 for a 10 piece order, 
All the while, everyone was so friendly. Brandi was particularly knowledgeable, and Brian, who helped facilitate our experience, was very nice. I know the next time I come to Orlando and I’m in the vicinity of Fashion Square, I’ll definitely be ordering from Jet’s Pizza again! I’m still thinking about that barbecue chicken!
