28th Annual Las Olas Art Fair

October 17 and 18

Howard Alan Events presents a long-running tradition for art lovers in Broward County, the annual Las Olas Art Fair. For the past 28 years, some of Florida’s most creative artists converge LasOlasFair_posteron the beautiful and extremely walkable Las Olas Boulevard in downtown Fort Lauderdale to show off their most recent projects and also the works they’d like to sell to art aficionados. The Las Olas Art Fair will be presented across two days: Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Admission is free.

The Las Olas Art Fair has been ranked as one of the top 100 art festivals in the United States, and every year, thousands of people come out to see works of art from some of the hottest Florida artists as well as artists and wholesalers from further afield — not just from across the United States, but from as far away as Hong Kong, Japan and the Philippines. More than 150 artists will be participating in this year’s art fair, lining up their works of art down Las Olas Avenue to give the viewer the impression that he or she is in a “pop-up” outdoor art gallery. Registration is open at the corner of SE 6th Avenue and E. Las Olas Boulevard.

At the art fair, you can meet all of the artists, as they will be outside accompanying their collections. You can ask them to commission a specific piece for your home or office (prices vary, ask your favorite artist for an estimate) or you can buy one of the pieces that the artists have already made and put on sale. If you’re particularly interested in an artist’s personal style and would like for them to create a piece of art just for you, be sure to ask them about the sources of their inspirations first. You just might be surprised at how great their art will look in your house!

The art fair begins at the same area in which artists sign in and register their booths: at 600 E. Las Olas Boulevard. Sponsors of the 28th annual Las Olas Art Fair include The Lincoln Motor Company, GEICO, and In Jacob’s Shoes.
