Emeril Lagasse Comes to the Dr. Phillips Center in Orlando

First in the Publix “Chefs” Series
Tuesday, December 1

Well-known regional supermarket chain Publix — where shopping is a pleasure — has sponsored a special “Chefs” season at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, so people can learn about healthy cooking and “the power and joy of food” in a hands-on environment.

The first of the three chefs in publix-color-logo_finalthis series will be hosting his own one-man show soon, and you will be impressed by his passion and enthusiasm. BAM! Emeril Lagasse will be starting off the 2015-16 “Chefs” series at the Walt Disney Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center on Tuesday, December 1 at 8 p.m.

Emeril Lagasse is well-known for his shows on the Food Network, such as Emeril Live and Essence of Emeril. He has hosted over 2,000 episodes of cooking shows on the Food Network, and he also works double duty on ABC’s Good Morning America as their food correspondent. His most recent TV show is one Floridians will be sure to love: it’s called Emeril’s Florida, and has aired three seasons on the Cooking Channel. A regional James Beard Award winner, he has turned his passion for food into a well-oiled marketing machine, earning him over $150 million in revenue each year between his TV shows, restaurants, and cookbooks. He has written nineteen cookbooks in his career; his most recent, Essential Emeril, was released this past October.

Emeril Lagasse’s cuisine is described as “New New Orleans,” a fusion of current Louisiana Creole cuisine with a number of cuisines that directly influenced Louisiana Creole, such as Asian, Portuguese, Southwestern, and others. He owns thirteen restaurants across the country, including two in Florida: Emeril’s Orlando and Emeril’s Tchoup Chop (also in Orlando).

The Publix “Chefs” series will also feature Barefoot Contessa Ina Garten (January 21, 2016) and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives host Guy Fieri (February 11, 2016). Tickets for all three shows are on sale right now and can be bought in one affordable bundle: the discounted three-show pass costs $144.92 and can be purchased online at drphillipscenter.org or by calling the box office at (844) 513-2014. Call the box office for tickets by show.
