Business for the Arts Broward (BFA) presents its Arts Mean Business Speaker Series featuring renowned artist Cey Adams discussing “Creating Awareness Through Art” from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Stache Bar Drinking Den + Coee Bar, 109 S.W. 2nd Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. The Pub presents “Menergy: Leather,” which will be a social and dance party for those into leather and kink and will also be a benefit for Florida AIDS Walk at 9p.m. The nights will feature a 50/50 raffle, Jello Shots and auction.

The 4th Red Hat Brunch will take place at Compass Palm Beach in celebration of National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Go and learn about prevention and how you can protect yourselves and those you love. We Got The Beats Record Store of Fort Lauderdale is proud to announce the Grand Opening of their second location, on University Drive in the City of Lauderhill. While the store had its soft opening a couple of months ago, continuous improvements have been leading up to a 3-day weekend celebration starting today and going through Sunday. Special Grand Opening sales and giveaways including t-shirts and music will be offered at both stores; and the Lauderhill store will feature 3 bands and 3 DJ’s over 3 days including performances by local bands Mongoose Triple Threat, Above The Skyline, and Fount as well as DJ Funktual.  Full info and schedule will be on their facebook page.

Equality Florida Miami Gala, presented by PNC Bank, takes place from 6-8p.m. at Nobu Hotel Eden Roc (4525 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach). The Gala will feature live music, open bars and delicious food. This year’s event will also include an update on equality from their CEO, and one of my all-time favorite speakers, Nadine Smith. They will be honoring SAVE and Huizenga Family Foundation. Miami Beach Garden Tour returns for the 17th year. Tour participants visit six gardens, each with its own distinctive character. The self-guided tour begins and ends at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. Gardens will be open for viewing between 10a.m. and 3p.m. MBBG will host special activities from 10a.m. to 5p.m. for tour participants and general public.  View the Miami Beach Garden Club’s Small Standard Flower Show, “Under the Sea,” showcasing floral designs and horticultural specimens, shop the plant sale and treasures at the Gems & Junque Bazaar.  Box lunches and assorted snacks will be available for purchase.  At 4 pm., a reception recognizing the homeowners is open to all. Expect non-stop laughs from the hilarious duo of Steve Martin and Martin Short in An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life that includes stand-up, film clips, musical numbers and conversations about their lives in show business. Martin and Short will also be joined by the Grammy-winning bluegrass band Steep Canyon Rangers and Jeff Babko. The shows take place at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts at 2 and 8:30p.m. , and tickets range from $69-$250.

Rumors presents the Winter Beer Olympics at 1p.m., which will feature 6 tournament style games with 12 teams of 6 members. There will be Gold, Silver and Bronze Winners.  This is a charity event with all proceeds benefiting the Smart Ride.

Broward Center for the Performing Arts presents “An Evening with Audra McDonald,” which is also the 2018 Stonewall National Museum Gala Fundraiser. Enjoy a pre-concert reception with open bar and one of the best silent auctions of the year. This is followed by Audra’s concert, and after the concert enjoy a three-course meal in the Mary N. Porter Riverview Ballroom as the museum honors Paul Fasana and others. Tickets are $250 with VIP tickets $300 (includes premier dinner) and can be purchased at Stonewall-Museum.org. The amazing event takes place from 4:30-9p.m. with the concert at 6p.m. sharp.

Death or Glory presents “Smirnoff Love Wins,” a Tea Dance benefitting Out Miami from 4 to 8p.m. starring DJ Pride. Death or Glory is located at 116 N.E. 6th Avenue, Delray Beach in the historic Falcon House, which was built in 1925. ​The restaurant and bar’s​ name was derived from the battle cry motto of the Queen’s Royal Lancers, and made popular in the 1979 song “Death or Glory” by The Clash. The event is sponsored by Smirnoff, whose promo team will be giving out complimentary cocktails.
